I just have a quick question.  With influenza running rampid in my workplace and everywhere, I guess I just want to know if your doctors have recommended you get in to see someone immediately if you suspect it, or should you just get plenty of rest and fluids like they tell regular people.  I really meant to call my doctor today, and he's out of the office on Wednesdays and I'm starting to feel a little funny.  I 've had the flu shot and pneumonia shot, so I've taken the precautions.  Also, I just started Methotrexate in October, so I'm maybe a little paranoid about getting the flu.  Anyways, I'm hoping someone on here has talked to their doctor about this.  Thanks!

I would call the doctor if you start having symptoms. My doctor told me to call if I have symptoms of the flu and nip it in the bud. I started getting a head cold about 2 months ago and went to the doc to get it under control right away. I hope you don't catch anything at all but, it sounds like you are on top of this. Keep us updated and take care.

Hi Firebabe, like Bab's said, if your having symptoms see your doctor. My doctor told me to never try to ride out anything. If I start to feel sick to get in right away. But than I'm not even allowed to run 100degree temp without going in. Better safe than sorry. I have had my flu and pneumonia shots as well and still got the flu and pneumonia so go figure?????????

QUESTION:

Can you do anything for the flu but to ride it out? I mean with viruses there is no meds that can get rid of a virus, i know there are meds to help the symptoms but as far as the virus goes dont you just have to wait for the virus to run its course?
