                          Hey everyone,

I woke up this morning and i have all of these little bruises up and down my legs and arms. Im also retaining a lot of fluid in my legs but am in the middle of my "cycle" so i attributed it to that. I've also been feeling achy and attributed it to weather change. Anyone have anything similiar?

Hi insearch, I've been retaining a lot of water lately too. My doctor just put me on lasix. I get a lot of bruises on me. Steroids can make you bruise very easily. Are you taking steroids?

lupus can cause low platelet counts - which cause bruising. are you bruising easily? or do you have small red dots on your legs? if so that would be something to ask your doctor about.

i have low platelets counts right now, so if you have more questions... you can ask me.
Thanks,

Angie

You might want to call your doc because a lot of different things can cause bruising - some that aren't a big deal and some that are more serious. If the bruises appeared out of nowhere, your doc might want to run some tests to test your platelets and possibly your liver. Also your doc might want to look into why you are retaining fluid because there could be different reasons for that too. IT's just best to be safe and get things checked out, especially if these are new symptoms.

Take care and let us know what you find out.
