No I did not go to hospital every time I do b/f gets upset with me. I know stupid reason for not going.

I do have a cold with some nassel dripping so I'm not sure if that caused the problems.
I have been checked for Lupus a while back dr is convienced that's not what is wrong with me. I have ER DR dx me as having Fibro.

I'm just scared I've had another mini stroke also left eye was bother me when all this was going on and now right eye has pain in the middle of it.

Roni,

You really need to be seen as soon as possible with the symptoms your having since you have had a stroke before. Are you taking blood thinners? I have been taking plavix since I had mine.

When I had my stroke I could tell the next day when I woke up something was wrong. My memory was really bad, extremely weak, poor balance, headache and left eye infection started.

Please don't put this off. If you don't go to the ER, at least call your doctor's answering service and let someone know what is going on. Take care and keep us updated. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh, I also had alot of confusion after my stroke.

My Dr didn't give me anything to take. With my other one I never knew anything had happened. My memory is bad from Fibro.

But mine was a mini stroke before.
Babs could the pressure be due to stroke?

I would immediately begin taking baby asprin. You also need to be screened for factor V liden (sp) and anti-phospholipid antibodies/lupus anti-coglutent. Those tests will tell if you are more prone to clots than others. If your blood pressure is even mildly high you should be on meds. You need a neurologist ASAP and to see a lupus expert not just a rheumetologist. I am sorry, but Fibro shouldn't cause mini-strokes and neither should any of your other dxes.

Mini-strokes are a huge red warning flag, they tell you and your doctor something is seriously wrong. If they are ignored then it can mean having a major stroke. A major stroke could leave you a vegatable, dead, or worse- trapped in your body with a functioning mind but in need of someone else to see to all physical needs.

Your boyfriend needs to get over himself. You need to see a doctor ASAP because if you are having mini-strokes then without treatment you will eventually have a major one. As him if he would prefer you end up in one of the states I described can happen with a major stroke.

My husband had a mini-stroke in 2005. He was lucky enough to avoid permanent damage but he could have ended up in really bad shape. To avoid that I made him see the doctor about his blood pressure and other stuff. His blood pressure is now in the high end of normal and we discovered his thyroid was not functioning properly and he has an inflammatory arthritis condition that my rheumy suspects might be RA which is responding to celebrex and plaquenil. Being treated means the chances he will suffer a major stroke in the next decade or so are slim. Please pay attention to this warning from your body. It means something is seriously wrong.

I did talk to my dr today. And yes she said she thinks it is one of 2 things. I had a mini stroke, which if there is anything that it did it will clear itself up in 24 hours or it's a different kind of migraine.

I take the asprin actully due to the pressure in my head I have taken 2 four hours apart. She also told me if the numbing comes back to get my self to the hospital. ASAP

My blood pressure latly has been normal. Alot normal than it used to be. It has beenlately 120 over 76 which I always though was good. I do have high heart rate though. It's usually in high 90"s.

I'm going to call Dr back on Monday and see about getting on thinners until I see Nerogilist in May.

Hi Roni,

I had a stroke in 2002.  I was 28, and had been diagnosed with lupus for 2 years at that point.  My stroke was caused by APS, (anti phospholipid syndrome - a protein that lupus creates that makes the blood thick and sticky). I also have inflammed heart valves.  Microscopic pieces of my heart valve sloughed off into my blood stream.  Those particles, along with my APS caused my stroke.  I knew I had APS when the stroke occured, but I was only taking an aspirin a day for it.  It wasn't enough to thin my blood.  APS will occur in varying degrees.  Most people with APS have to take a much stronger blood thinner than aspirin.  I'm on coumadin (warfarin).

You should be seen by a neurologist for sure.  Also, make sure you get tested for APS.  DON'T just start taking an aspirin without talking to a neurologist or your pcp first.  All medications are powerful, including aspirin.  You don't know what you're dealing with here. The pressure you are experiencing can only be diagnosed by a neurologist.  If you're feeling anxious about this, I would go see your pcp, and make sure you get a referral to a neuro.  You did have a stroke, that has been confirmed.  Now you need to find out why you had oneFor me, it was the inflammed heart valve that helped contribute to the stroke.  There can be many factors that cause a stroke to occur.

I hope this helps give you some direction on what to do next Roni.  I've been there. A stroke is serious no matter how small it is.

Keep us posted okay,

Ginny

I'm feeling better this morning. But I'm still going to call Dr tomorrow and also check with neuroligist and see if I can get seen sooner.

Ginny my Dr told me take the asprin but I have also heard to take one to help thin your blood out but there was also an article on AOL today about other things to start doing like mulitivatimins and vatimin C and E also using olive oil which I do use.

Roni,
I'm glad your calling your doctor tomorrow. They need to find the cause of the stroke and get you on the right treatment plan.  Like Ginny said, different things will cause a stroke. Mine was caused from Athersclerosis(hardening of the arteries). I had no idea I had this problem till I had the stroke. My arteries on the left side of the brain are very thin compared to the right side.
Please let us know what you find out and take care. Don't hesitate to go to the ER if you need too. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.
