Hello all,
I have been away from the forum for a few months ... late last year I was being discriminated by my employer for Lupus related work restrictions.  As a result, I took FMLA leave & proceeded with an attorney.  My employer was most uncooperative throughout the proceedings.  Just when I was about to file a lawsuit, my Dad passed away just after Christmas.  I called off all of the legal stuff to help my Mom get through the shock of the death.  The discrimination ordeal was a blessing in disguise ... I'm very thankful I was able to spend quality time with my Mom while getting the estate squared away.
My advice ... mentioning a Lupus condition to your employer can be a sticky situation & should only be done as a last resort.  I am much better off now as I have a new job starting next week.  The health insurance will be a bit pricier, but it's a smaller 'family' company where the folks seem to care about the employees & not just the bottom line.
Thank you to everyone's support & suggestions during my legal battle - I gained much knowledge & support from the forum members.
Happy Spring! :)

Jenny, I'm really sorry to hear about your dad.

The work situation sounds like it ended up being resolved okay by you finding a new and hopefully better job. It sounds like you found the ideal type of work environment.

Thanks for the update. Take care
