I never used to get sick with normal stuff like colds or anything. If I got sick it was somthing really bad like cervical cancer, gallbladder surgery, ect.. Anyway right now I'm fighting what appears to be strep throat. I havn't been able to stay awake for more than about 15 min. at a time for the past two days. A total awake time of about 3 hours out of 48. I feel like I'm running a fever and I swollowed a lit match.
Even though it's pretty rough I was wondering if you all seem to have a lot less ability to fight off normal illness than you used to have? I can't seem to get around anyone that is sick anymore without catching it and twice as bad and twice as long as everyone else gets it. Does that happen to you as well. As it just started happening since you starting being tested or treated for autoimmune disease? If yes why do you think it is? My doctor keeps me on zithromyocin 3 days a week on a permament basis but yet I'm still so sick. I want to be tough but the truth is I have tears running down my face. I'm so miserable. Ok sorry I just lost it for a min.
love ya

(((( Carol ))))) bless your heart. Strep throat is SO painful, I had it a couple of years ago and thought I would die, I had not had it since I was 14. Right now I don't seem to have a problem fighting off colds / infections even though my WBC & RBC are both in the 3's-4's (knock on wood).

I sure hope you start feeling better soon and with spring around the corner maybe all the bad germs will go away. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

(((Carol))),
Bless your heart! Your having a rough time of it lately sweetie....((Hugs)). Some of the meds we take like pred and immunosuppressive drugs stop our immune system from working causing us to be more prone to catching things and taking longer to heal. I hope you start to feel better soon. Rest and take care. Update us when you can. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Carol, you didn't need this. I'm so sorry you're sick with something else. You just can't seem to get a break. A great big hug is coming your way.

(((((Carol)))))), Oh no, I am so sorry to hear about your strep throat.  Pat is right about you not being able to catch a break.  It seems kind of concerning that you are getting illnesses like strep when you are already on antibiotics.

I don't blame you for crying - how could you not be completely sick of all of this.  It just sounds like your body can't fight anything off anymore.

Maybe this will give you an excuse to eat some ice cream to sooth your throat devil

Hang in there and know we are here for you.

Love and hugs and prayers,

Hey girl, how are you feeling today? You haven't posted on this thread and I hope that doesn't mean that you're worse. Take care of yourself.

Hi Carol:

Just checking in on you today. I hope that you're feeling a bit better today, I know you've have a really tough time lately. Being on the prednisone lowers your ability to fight off infections and I sure that part of why you're not able to fight them off. Plus, you might want to talk to your doctor about the antibiotics, it could be possible that your body is unable to use the antibiotics you're getting. If you take to many antibiotics it can make you immune to other antibiotics.

You take care, and give us an update when you can.

Love ya,
Barb

I everyone, I'm sorry I havn't responded. I just have not felt good. I'm still sleeping alot and I keep waking up with horrible nightmares. I've been awake a little more today so I guess i'm feeling better. Alot of people out here are suffering from allergies and bad sore throats so maybe that's it. It's just I don't normally have allergies.

I'm so sick of coming here complaining. I just wish I could come here and say Hey I feel great! My doctor thinks it would be best if I move back to arizona so I have made some arraingments with my family. My neice is going to rent my house wish is good I don't have to sell it and somone in my family will be here to make sure it's cared for. I'm gonna have to sell most of my furniture because I don't want to have to get a huge uhaul with the price of gas.

My parents will let me stay at their house until I get on my feet. Hopfully for both are sakes that won't take too long. I just hope the move will help me. especially with my breathing. I have a rheumy appt next month so I won't be moving until may. Just thinking about it makes me tired.

anyway thanks everyone. I'll try to get by here in a couple of days

love ya

carol
