Okie is on long term antibiotics. I think she is sick today but she's pretty good about responding to questions so I'm sure you'll get her story soon.

Hi Sheryl:

I have gastroparesis and I take 15mg of reglan 4 times a day. I avoid lots of fiber and very small meals. I tried doing the antibiotics for mine and I couldn't handle the drugs. I had tons of gas and stomach pain and upset that it wasn't worth it to me to take it. I prefer the reglan.

I hope you do well with your antibiotics. Wishing you the best always.

Take care,
Barbara

Hi Sheryl, I take zythromyacin on monday wenesday and friday every week. I'm not convinced it's the best thing. I fear becoming immuned to them. My whole life I have heard that you shouldn't take anti-b unless it's the last resort.
I take it for my lung disease. I get sick so easy and I wind up in the hospital alot. Everytime that happened it destroys more of my lungs. So in my case anyway it's the better of two evils I guess.
They do cause bloating and gas but nothing to severe. I kind of get sick to my stomach but a little soup usually helps. It's real hard for me to say one way or another if the long term use is helping or not. I havn't actually felt better since I've been taking them. But I havn't been in the hospital again either. I hope the meds are helping you.
hugs
carol

Barbara I noticed you avoid fiber, and I have read that about the GP. But I also have IBS, where i teeter back and forth betweeen constipated and the big D.  So those C times I need fiber to help me, Is this like a two edged sword. I need the fiber at time to regulate me, but it wrosens the GP. what do you do for regularity? confused

Hi Sheryl:

Sorry to hear about the IBS with the GP. I'm sure having both causes troubles for you. I can honestly say that I take two other medications that cause the Big D, so it kinda helps keep me regular. I also take narcotics for pain so that off sets the Big D. Lots of fiber is very hard for ppl with GP to digest, so I make sure I avoid lots of fiber.

Wishing you the best always,

Barbara

tongue  Thanks Rosie, I have missed you too, I had just beem real sick like vomitng all the time.

Barbara I know what you mean I have meds to counter the d
and other meds that counter  the c, the often regulat now.
but then there times when the d gets some bad i have to take painkillers for it. C gets bad occasionlly and well then i have to have the fiber. Its a catch 22 eyes
I feel somewhat ok these days, why I am back on cause I wont be getting up a puking during a post. Sorry for that visaul.  I lost 20 in one week and ened up in hospital for hydration.  So it taken a good long time to feel better now, I still have my moments though, but all in all doing ok?
You both are in prayers..Love...Sheryl tongue
