Babs, thanks for asking and Carol, thanks for posting a quick update for me. Rosie, I'm glad you were having some fun.

Carol is right - I have been battling a nasty flu that doesn't want to let go. I think this is the longest the flu has ever lasted for me - high fever, headaches and hurt all over. Today the fever is finally gone along with a lot of the pain, but now my sinuses are so full and painful that it feels like my eyes and head are going to explode.

I have to say that before I got the flu last Thursday, I had been feeling absolutely great - the best I had felt in years and I was so happy. I was able to to some exercising and was walking several times a week and really not having to rest much. I'm hoping once I shake the flu and this sinus thing I can get back to walking again. Of course I got this flu right as my husband had to leave to go to China for the week for his job. I did get some help from my mom and a friend though.

I had also been really busy with my daughter's dance competition, which thankfully I was healthy for because it was quite a busy weekend. She did great and ended up getting a first place. Now we are really busy with getting ready for her spring recital - she is in 5 different dances, so she has lots of practices and rehearsals. My son will be starting baseball soon, so my head will really be spinning.

I feel so out of touch here, so I'm going to try to at least read some of the posts and catch up a little.

Hippi, I hope you fully recover from the flu and feel as good as you did before you got it ASAP! Unfortunately there is a nasty virus going around, I think maybe being stuck in bed is a blessing in disguise for me since I have avoided anything worse than a mild head cold.

Hi Hippi,
That does sound like a nasty case of the flu....((Hugs)). Like Redrose, I hope you are back to feeling good again very soon.
Congrats to your daughter! I know you are very proud of her. You will be very busy with her dancing and Josh playing ball. I hope they both have a great summer of fun.

((((( Hippi )))))))

Do you suppose you may have pushed to hard with your new sense of well-being. I've done that to my self time and again. I continue to "hold back" a certain amount of energy and it seems to help me flare less and have shorter flares.

I hope you are well again soon. Take care sis!

Blessings!

Oh Hippi, I'm so sorry you got the flu. I've been so bad about keeping in touch but this weekend I did think about you and your daughter. First place! You must be so very proud. I have granddaughters her age, and I must say I wish they had a mother who was as dedicated as you are to your daughter. She's a lucky kid.

I hope the flu goes away and stays away. Do you every try the saline rinse when you have sinus problems? I flush my sinuses nearly every day and sometimes two times a day. It helps me a lot. My pcp has given me the following plan of attack: 1. Use Afrin 2. Immediately after the Afrin, flush sinuses with saline water (I get the water as hot as I possibly can). And I don't remember 3 or 4. :) But then I drink a cup of tea just as hot as I can get it. This won't clear up a sinus infection, but it helps me get rid of those awful sinus headaches. And Hippi, make yourself rest.

I hope you get some wonderful souveniers from China to make up for having to be alone for the week.

Take care of yourself and let me know how you get on.

Love,

Pat

Thanks everyone. Uhg, I'm still fighting these sinuses. I don't think it's an infection because I don't have a fever anymore, just the pain and headaches and the very out of it, fuzzy headed feeling. Pat, I'll have to try the saline and the tea sounds great. This has just knocked me out.

Hi Hippi:

(((((hugs))))) I'm sorry to hear that your sinuses are still giving you grief. I know how painful sinus infection can be. I hope you begin to feel much better soon. Congratulations to your daughter, 1st place I know you are wonderfully happy with her. How is Josh feeling now that he's playing softball? I'm glad that the hormones help you out so much. Try not to over do, I know how hard that it so say, when we have a good day we feel like doing so much. Please take care and get some rest. Hope you begin to feel much much better real soon.

Love,
Barb
