I was happy to read Sarlynn's post about twitching. Because I do this but much more severe. My head shacks upper body jerks forward arms and hand shake this has gone on for years from time to time but not daily until now. Last week I started having this daily off and on all day each episode last anywhere from 3 seconds to about 10 minutes. I am physically exhausted it is making the pain I already have worse all my muscles in this area are now so weak. They feel like jello and quiver under and weight. It is even hard to type this message. Worst of all my insurance has lapsed because my husband changed jobs and we can not afford Cobra coverage. I will not have insurance again until July. aaaagghhhh! I guess I should be thankful we will not have a pre-existing clause on this insurance when it finally starts.

Thanks for letting me vent,
Kasey

((((((Kasey)))))) I'm sorry you are so sick and that you are dealing with shaking and twitching. Please let your doc know about this if you haven't already. Did you have the shakes and tremors before taking your meds? The reason I ask is that I started getting really bad shakes, tremors and weakness and finally realized it was a rare side effect from the antidepressant (zoloft) I was taking. It can be a from a bad reaction to a med. If it's not medication related, I would make sure your doctor knows to see if maybe they need to do some neurological testing.

It's too bad they aren't at least putting you on plaquenil for your possible MCTD to see if that can help with some of your symptoms. I was in diagnosis limbo for years and it was so frustrating. I finally switched rheumies and got diagnosed fairly quicky. A lot of us have had to go through several rheumies to find a really good one.

Hang in there and know that you are among people who do understand.
Diagnosis:  UCTD (lupus) 2006; Raynauds 2006; Sjogren's 2006; lupus symptoms began 2003; CFS 1991; Mono 1985

My meds have not changed in at least 2 months. I tried Plaquenil but I was still working then and I could not function mentally on it. I am on my 4th Rheumy now. Unforchanetly I am in uninsured Limbo until my husbands insurance waiting period is over which will be July. I have seen Neuro had MRA, MRI w/ and w/o contrast, CT, and lumbar puncture no one knows why I have tremors or blurred vision. Before the movements were tolerable because the were infrequent it happened rarely every week now it is multiple times daily.
