took a sebatical!!!
Went to new rheumy here.
Didnt go great.
Says that plaquenil not much good for sjogrens but 'lets hope you will be a lucky one'
poo pooed ANA's.
Examined me with my clothes on so did not see my bone or muscle structure,
pressed the two sides of my sandels on foot as in a squeeze, very gentle squeeze but donno what that was about or what would it reveal.
Wouldnt have been able to see the pes cavis.
Nor the muscle weakness.
No reflex exam of knees or elbows.
Tried to ask about neuro implications and also the chronic muscle myopathy, no joy there either, nothing to say, absolutely nothing!
Say I show no sign of Lupus, but 'well sjogrens go hand in hand with lupus sometimes, doesnt it?'
Said no rheumatoid artritis but I dont have that and no one ever said I did altho I have the rheumatoid factor.
See you in three months, bye bye.
oh, brought twin along, she wouldnt let her accompany me into the consultation room. I was upset, that never happened me before.
I thought docs didnt do that!
Consensus, didnt like her!!!!!
xx Ann

((((((((( Ann )))))))))

We wait SOooooo long for some of these appointments . . . and then to have such a meaningless outcome is just so disappointing. I'm SOooo sorry it wasn't more helpful.

Did he make any modifications to your meds? Did he make any suggestions for home care? Physical therapy, home exercises? Anything???

Did you go in with a typed list of symptoms and questions??? Sometimes that is helpful too.

I'm sorry he didn't allow your sister to accompany you. Its nice when a support person can help listen and clarify some things.

Sorry Ann.

Blessings!

It was a 'she' and I dont think she was the slightest bit interested.
I desperately tried for answers on a few things, no joy.
She was running over time and I was seen at 4pm and she had one other patient after me.
I 'googled' her and she seemed to have graduated in 2000, did a two year fellowship in ohio and came home to Ireland.
Her research specialities seem to have been drug induced Lupus and Male Osteoperosis!!!!
She suggested nothing bar, 'keep taking the plaquenil and see you in three months', considering rheumies are in major short supply here in Ireland I donno what to do.
She was a medicaid finanancial recipient and in a teaching hospital and medicaid stopped, I think, paying for medical personel training and research.
Also I found that she and another had not declared sommot to medicaid and neither had one other doc but one other had.
I have not a notion what that means.
And I dont know either why only three came up when I googled her name, for there are thousands of docs in america!!!!
I didnt like her, neither did my twin who we were both stunned coulndt join me for the consultation.
