I am going to scratch myself into a monkey I swear!. I am used to being itchy on my skin from driving in the sun or whatever. I am used to some scalp itching now and again. I am NOT  used to this itching. Its in waves. I dont have lice, I dont have dry scalp. The mornings are fine and once I fall alseep as long as I am not up to potty I am fine. By the afternoon though the itching begins. My arms, my neck, wanna laugh? The insides of my ears!!!!!!!!!! My scalp also. Dr. says its from the sun I got on my arms and neck. No problem. My ears? My scalp? Guys I feel like itching is gonna make me INSANE. I dont like to itch!!!!!!!!!! Once the wave hits it goes on forever and then seems to die off. Some areas of skin have the papules of clear serum and I get that. Whats with the ears and scalp?

(((((((((( chaya ))))))))))

We have had a topic or two about itchy ears. Some of us get some relief by putting a tiny dab of moisturizer on a q-tip and moisturizing the ear canal just bit. Don't dig around in there. I was surprised at how much difference that made.

Maybe a different shampoo?? A vinegar rinse? So sorry you are so miserable. Its just awful to be so itchy.

Blessings!

It doesnt itch constantly. Its in waves. Today I was daring and decided to scratch my head and see if thinking about it set it off. NOPE. If it doesnt itch....well it doesnt itch. Seems to revolve around certain times of the day and when I am in and out of the house. It has something to do with sun exposure but my scalp and ears are protected by hair so no reason fo them to itch. Rosie I am beginning to wonder about myself. I feel like crap. I have weird symptoms . I had to laugh at myself today between a few tears. If I were my own friend I would be wondering if I had lost sanity. I am hoping someone on here can shed some light on the itches.

Chaya,

When I have a rash from the sun on my sun exposed areas, I also get it behind my knees . . . even though I always wear long pants and even though I've only been in the car and not really outside.

Not saying its sun . . . but weird things do happen. It could be sweat related too. Wacho, isn't it?? I hope some of the others can help. Even a medicine can cause this stuff. . . and it doesn't need to be a new one.

Blessings!

Some of our medications contribute to conditions of dry skin, thin skin, and itchy skin. I don't know if you mean inside the ear canal or inside the ear cartilages, but my rheumy suggested a thin film of 10% corticosteroid creme -- it really helps the itching in my ear canals.

I've used a similar method in the past for an itchy head -- get some Betadyne Surgical Scrub and mix it 1/2 & 1/2 with your regular shampoo -- worked for me.

Hope that helps

When I am very tired and done too much my finger joints pain AND itch! I kinda pull and scratch em. Twin asks how can your joints be itchy?
Well I ask the same question? does anyone experience this?

Oh, I have been trying Tea Tree shampoo and conditioner. My scalp is sore although always wear a hat. At present dont notice much difference, but I was told about it. VERY expensive.

Itchy ears, well twin and I have horrendous ears cos we both wear hearing aids and mine are SO dry. I must try the moisturiser on a q-tip, good advice that. Also I have tried warming olive oil poured onto a teaspoon and held on top of a cup of hot water, be VERY careful, the oil can get very hot! even without noticing so be careful. There is an 'art' to that!!!! but worth it.
