Greetings fellow "Lupies"

I have updates one just about everything, well NOT everything....but you know what i mean.

OK, let's begin with my....

HEALTH: Apparently my lupus (SLE) has begun to attack my kidneys
according to the nephreologist(sp) and my reg. doc., I had
been having the symptoms of swollen ankles, high BP, foamy urine...the whole nine.
so after months of being hard headed I went and finally had my kidney biopsy-ed last week
(results pending) confused
and over a month ago I was hospitalized for Pnuemonia(sp) I was out of commission for about 2 weeks, I'm still not fully able to use my lungs to it's full capacity....I'm doing breathing exercises to get them back to normal, but I've been having this random hiccup/ sigh thingy...if i'm doing a lot of talking or whatever. I'll have a hiccup like it's indigestion settling or something along those lines. I asked my regular doc and he said there still could be fluid in my lungs from the pnuemonia and or pluerisy ?????  I'm going to get another x-ray soon...don't want to but oh well.
I hope this isn't gonna be a life long issue....like I don't want to become headline news because of some hiccups brought on by past bout of pnuemonia. :-p (Seriously, I am really blessed to still be living after all that b/c if I had not gone to the ER when I did...I probably would not be here now.)

EMPLOYMENT: I've been transfered to a new position in a new location but it's with the same company.  eyes   So I'm gonna be a good little wage slave and continue doing what I can while I can, my next move is getting enrolled in winter classes and working at a more stable company (part-time) that isn't so shifty and underhanded to it's employees ( I know you're thinking "good luck, hun"....good jobs are out there,  finding and keeping them is the hard part)

I hope I haven't been gone away too long for you guys to think I disappeared or something worse.... smhair   I'm gonna try to give updates and do randompost when ever I can.
peace, love -n-hairgrease

Wow . . . you've had a lot going on. I'm glad you are still able to work . . . but sorry you need to. What are you taking in school???

Do they have the kidney issues under control? There are some others here with lung issues. If you start a lung topic, they'll be more likely to see it and let you know what's helped. I think some of them have used cytoxin for the lung issues.

Thanks for the update . . . I hope things stabilize for you!!

Blessings!

I hope you improve and get biopsy news that is good. I am putting off calling my rheumy but I have to do it. No way around it. I updated myself after a long intermission. It happens to all of us sometimes. We all wonder and worry about those missing but trust they will let us know when and if they can. While waiting we all send positive thoughts and prayers.

Hey Meeks. You sure have been through alot! I was also very ill this summer (June-July) and used a walker, couldn't get my food, or bathe myself. Was up to 60mg pred, but finally diagnosed with infected parotid glands and found the correct antibiotic. I have to admit, you have me beat! I hope your lungs continue to improve and your biopsy is normal. As for work, "good little wage slave" made me laugh. I finally resigned from the wage slave business last month. I hope you will be able to do the same soon! Love, Butterflake
