Do any of you get recurring bladder/kidney infections? I got one over the weekend, and on top of it all, my joints ache the worst that I've ever experienced. I didn't know if that could somehow be connected.

Thanks!
Diagnosed with Crohn's for 13 Years
Currently on 75 mg Imuran

Tried prednisone, flagyl, pentasa, and Humira (developed drug-induced lupus and had to stop).

(((((( Mimi )))))))

Hi Mimi . . . I see you take pentasa . . . do you have Chron's ??

Did the lupus symptoms disappear yet? Lots of lupans have kidney issues. Some also have interstitial cystitis (a type of painful bladder inflammation).

I don't know much about either . . . but hopefully some who do will see your post and respond. You might change your topic title (click on the pencil in the upper right of your first post) to include the words "Kidney and Bladder Issues"

I hope you get some helpful responses. (and I hope you don't have Lupus too)

Blessings!

Hi Mimik81, I'm sorryyou are suffering with this. Yes when I first got sick I had recurring bladder infections all the time. It's just been recently that I noticed that alot of the things that were chronic have all but disapeared since I got going on the plaquenil. I was wondering if you are taking that? I'm sorry you are dealing when crohns, I thank God I don't have it but it sounds like a horrible thing.

I have recurring bladder infections.  In fact when I went to the doctor again, I asked for plaquenil, because I thought I was in a major flare.  but I second guessed myself too, saying it was probably just a bladder infection.  Lucky for me I asked for the plaquenil anyway, and got it.  also blood tests were done, they were positive for Lupus, and the doc sent me to my rheumy, who seems to be a really good doctor, and listens.  we shall see.

Somehow plaquenil seems to have taken away the bladder infection too.  We shall see as time goes by.

i am just so thankful for it.  I had a pretty good day yesterday, and actually got off the bed often.  today has been even better.

Still have not called the doctor about that test I did with our grid.  don't want to give up plaquenil.  It has helped me so much.

thanks to all of  you for being just as you are.
