Have any of you tryed a homeopathic dr?  I wondered if there have been any good results due to going to a dr like that.  I've just been wondering if living a more organic, or natural lifestyle has any effects on this?

Hi dominique, I havn't done anything like that but I know some people on here have tried things like acupuncture with some success. I have never heard any really possitive results but I guess what ever we can do that benefits our body and makes us stronger has to be a good thing. I hope you are getting some rest in between those three kiddo's of yours. Hang in there hun.

Yes, since being dx in April 07, I've done a lot of research, experimenting and talking to other lupus patients about natural healing
I know a few, including myself, who are "treating" their lupus naturally.

I'm not a huge fan of homeopathy, but more of a natrupathic approach. Because of my illness and all that I'm learning, I'm now in school working on getting my naturopathic certificate. That is how much I believe in it.

The key for me was when I changed my entire diet, quit smoking, joined a gym working out all the time and changed my horrible attitude, my health started to improve.
Most people don't want to acknowledge they cannot heal their bodies (illness) unless they give their body and mind the tools it needs

I'm still on my journey, struggling, but I'm getting there :-)

My suggestion, go see a reputable ND (NATUROPATHIC DOCTOR), They do med school just like any allopathic dr.

Good luck

Just be very careful.  Many herbs, suppliments, etc will interact very badly with our meds.  Just be really careful!!

I agree on being careful. I know good nutrition really helps, but I believe homeopathy is based on triggering your immune system so clearly I would be wary of that. I kept having really bad back to back migraines and since seeing a very good chiropractor I have not had another one. But I have been to a really awful chiropractor too so ????

An ND is an actual medical doctor so they would be aware which supps or herbs would interact (if at all) with meds.

Homeopaths would not know if there were interactions since they are not medically trained. Also, not all hemopathy triggers the immune system.
Homeopathy is more about energy.
A better diet and exercise triggers the immune system. We want to trigger the immune system to heal it.
