Hello everyone!

I have PTSD and Anxiety. Everything has gotten worse lately with no explanation. So I went to a new PCP and asked to be tested for everything that could be causing my condition. If he could not find anything then I would settle for just nuts again. His call with my results shocked me. My ANA was possitive, my B-12 is low but still in the normal range, I have microscopic hematuria for several months now, my back has hurt for months now, especially on the spine. I am dizzy, I have strange aches and sharp pains,my anxiety is running at mock 2 , even though my Platelet count is ok I have some strange high's and low's in SEG, Lymph MEAN PLT,my calcium is low, my cholesterol is all messed up,and my C-Reactive protein is high. I got a copy of these test and started looking up stuff. My blood work said that my titers for Lupus were high. Should I let him ignore all of this? Am I just being a Hypochondriac? I am tired hurting an frustrated....

I would suggest that you see a rheumatologist - that is the right doctor to really address your fears and determine a diagnosis & treatment plan. The best way to find a rheumy who is familiar with lupus it to check www.lupus.org, look up the chapter in your area, and see which doctors are working with them. These are the drs who are most familiar with illnesses related to positive ANA's.

Meanwhile, check out the links in my signature to locate lots of information about lupus and how it is diagnosed...then come back and ask away & we'll try & answer your questions.

First of all thanks for the information. Second, Wow you have to be really sick to get 4 out of the 11. Those are major signs. I have the rash, ANA and blood in urine for a while now, but really do not want to be positive in the others to get the DX. I just want to feel better and get treated for whatever is going on.

Me too Shelbee.  But at the same time, I want him to make the right diagnoses, so that the treatment will be effective.  I want my energy back.  I want to be able to clean my house, all of it on the same day.  cook for my babies again, take them fishing, swimming, to the drivein, so many things this diesase has taken from me, I want it back if I can get it.

Luckily for me my GP diagnosed me with Lupus as soon as he got the blood tests, but he sent me to a rheumatologist so I would be taken better care of.  and this was a good thing for him to do.

I agree that you should find a rheumatologist if you can, just listen to all the people here, and you will do better about knowing what your tests say.  I was pretty much passive before I found this forum.  But it sounds like you are already on the ball getting things done tHat i simply did not know to do.  Who says the old are wiser? smilewinkgrin

Shelbee . . . At the very least, you need to KEEP a copy of all your blood work. The lupus panel does NOT rule out lupus. It is just a tool to help in dx. With all of your aches and pains, I would see a rheumatologist. Also, see if your positive ANA shows a "pattern" . . . that is sometimes helpful too. I don't want to give you more to worry about . . . . I just want to make sure your doctor isn't ignoring anything. With your positive ANA (which really could be nothing), he really should have referred you to a rheumatologist. Lots of us floundered around for a LONG time because we were not referred to the appropriate docs.

My intention is NOT to scare you . . . but to help you get some good answers for your issues. Keep us posted.

Blessings!
