Hey everyone, I just wanted to share my thoughts about my lupus. I did struggle.. and I still am but I believe it is comming to an end, when I really know it isnt. I have been playing basketball about eveyday and I have only missed one day of school so far. Its hard for me though because I cant go in the sun like others, and I hate that I have to wear gloves in class if its too cold. Its hard because teens these days just dont understand, not even adults. Today I had to come home early and I hate doing that (from school). I just feel so frustrated. I now have a new pain, its behind my ear, its a pain in my lower head bone.. does anyone have an idea what this is from? Sorry for being so off topic.. I just dont want to have to complain to my parents, they work hard enough for me. Thanks for your time !!
Medications: Prednisone 7.5mg. Plaquenil 300mg. Methotrexate. Naproxen (for pain). Multivitamin. Calcium. Fish Oil. Vitamin D.

You aren't off topic at all !! (((((((((( Bigsansfer ))))))))

Lots of us have Sjogren's, which can cause, among other things, swelling of lymph nodes and dry eyes, dry mouth . . . anyway that will often cause pain under and behind the ears.

I'm so sorry you are dealing with so much which you should be carefree. Make sure you keep a symptom list so you can keep telling each doctor at each visit what is going on.

If you like hats, you will likely find that wearing a hat will help keep your hands warm. That's because we lose so much body heat out the top of our heads. Its a really quick way to warm up. Also, placing anything on your lap will help. So even a newspaper or a towel over your lap will help too. I love wearing vests too.

I hope some of the others have some ideas about the new pain you are having.

Keep us posted.

Blessings!

Hey girl!  Sorry you are feeling so out of whack.  I have no idea about the pain in your head, but I want to tell you to just keep your head up high.  Who cares if people look at you funny because you are wearing gloves in class.  In fact, go out and buy so really cute ones and just take it to the extreme.  From what I see of kids these days I believe that anything goes.  People your age either think your weird because you are different or they think you are awesome because you do things your way.  In high school I thought I'd try to fit in and act like the popular kids, while my sister was the exact opposite.   A few weeks ago I admited to her that I was pretty sure she had more fun than me because she did her own thing and people looked up to that and pretty much accepted it.  I just tried fitting into the cookie cutter image that I thought was cool.  She laughed at me and thought that I was having more fun trying to be popular.  Actually I wish I had the guts to dress like she did and not care what people thought.  I do now.

If people can't accept the glove thing, just smile and shrug it off.  People come and go but your true friends are always there for you.
