Hi Dunny . . . actually Crohn's can do that too. My bet is the Crohn's . . . but Lupans do get mouth and nose ulcers so why not in the throat too.
Are you taking MTX? You might need more folic acid. Sometimes that will help the mouth and nose ulcers. Also probiotics. I know they talk a lot about
probiotics on the Crohn's forum and some here have done well with them too. The loud message is to make sure you are taking live cultures. If you get them from the healthfood store, make sure they are refrigerated before and after you buy them. I do, at times, make a habit of drinking Keifer. It is inexpensive and easy to make . . . but seems rather gross at first.
*sigh* You are experiencing the "domino affect" of these dd's. One thing goes haywire and as our system gets depleted other things start going wrong. Then we take meds that work well, but put some stuff out of whack and we are adding things like high blood pressure and diabetes and the like.
I hope you start feeling better soon.
