Hi Wokker,

Welcome! I'm sure you will find this site a great resource for information and support. I have had Lupus for 11 years and am recently new to this site as well, I have found the people extremely nice, the information very helpful and the support most valuable. It is great to be able to converse with others who can relate to our situations.

Thanks for the welcome.. I was dx at 19 (1991)with major kidney and lung problems, of course along with the joint aches, rash on face, hair loss and weight loss, tiredness etc you guys know dont need to explain....have had a number of flare up along the way. In 1996 i got an onfection crypto-neophoremans(?think that is right spelling) in my wrist join which apparently is most unlikely. Usually goes to blood and gives people meningitis. I consider my self lucky, my wrist was drained and not much cartlige is left i had to postpone my wedding for 9 weeks, spent 2 weeks in hospital had 6 weeks of invtravenous antibiotics. Got to the wedding after the honeymoon the other side of wrist flared up another 6 weeks of iv antis and 12 months of oral antis. 6 months of physio on wrist and it works pretty well now.
1998 became pregnant after many trips to drs professors etc, jessica was born 8 weeks early weighing 4pound 3oz, i had spent the previous 8 weeks before that sitting doing nothing as i had developed high pressure and gestational diabetes. Overall we got our beautiful little girl who is now 9yo. We treasure her and decided not to risk it by having anymore children.
Iconsider my self luck i have a great outlook on life and i think that it is my warped sense of humour that gets me through.
Currently my kidneys are normal and my lungs are ok some pericarditis (but hey you guys know with lupus nothing is normal i don't have fluid around the lungs just pain in the ribs mainly), some joint probs but hey... my best friend who is in perfect healthy recently lost her baby and didn'y know anything right up to the moment he was born only living for 45mins so yeah i consider myself and husband extremely lucky

enough about that anyway. I see on the replies you can put what meds u are on down the bottom can you tell me how to do that?

Sorry sometimes i just type and forget the grammar!!!

Regards Wokker

Top left (down a bit) click on CONTROL PANEL, then choose Edit Profile - down near the bottom of the page you'll see a block where you can edit your signature - that's where lots of us choose to list diagnosis, meds, symptoms, etc.

It is recommended that you keep it to 10 lines or less, and blank lines do count.

Hope that helps!

Hey Wokker,

Glad to have you here with us.  Welcome.  I know how I felt when I first arrive.

For me, even when you list something that may have been said by one person, your words and description and illness helps me.  for whatever reasons there are, when I get in front of a doctor, I tend to not remember my words, or symptoms.  and sometimes I hear them over and over again from other people, and it helps me to remember.

Glad you are here, and looking forward to hearing more of your words, and opinions, and symptoms.

PS:  I recently had a stroke so sometimes my words do not come out correctly.  so if my sentences are missing some words, I simply did not catch the mistake while rereading the post.
