Yes I was told to take it with a big meal. Meds don't usually bother my stomach, so I hope this trend continues. Thanks for the encouragment- I was really praying for an answer like yours.

Thanks for the welcome. I agree about the wonderful people on this forum. As a newcomer, I just read posts as I am able to. Being new and not knowing alot about this, I am so happy that their are people who are so willing to share their knowledge and experience with me.
You and Stacie have given me confidence in Mx. I was so scared when I got the script but took my first dose last night, and I am happy to say I haven't felt any bad reactions, so hopefully this will be my experience with it.
I have to say, you sound like an extremely strong woman dealing with your issues and offering positive support to me. I thank you for that, and I hope to have the same mindset in 20 years.
I also take MTX for RA,and have been on it for a couple of years now. Before I started it, I had the worst hip pain ever, and as long as I stay on my 8 pills per week, I don't have the burning sensation in my hips anymore. I have had some hair loss, but mostly mine comes out when I wash it. It took me a good month to get used to it because when I first started it, I felt like I had the flu with body aches, and also had a difficult time staying awake, however this did pass with time. The one thing to remember is sunsreen even in winter months, as the MTX is really hard on your skin.
Good luck to you.
Thanks for your reply. I guess from seeing the replies that Methotrexate really can help. I just finished my second week (7 pills) and fortunately I don't get any side effects. My hands are still really bothering right now though and I have increased my Prednisone for a few days but it isn't working well.
I am just waiting and hoping for this new medication to take effect.
Best Wishes for the Holidays
