Hello All,

Well, I just received a call from my doctor in regards to my tests I had done for my breathing issues. It seems I have left the doctors at the clinic somewhat baffled! I tend to do that a lot, as I'm sure many of you do as well.

She said my chest x-rays are showing considerable pulmonary thickening, but they can't understand the everything is showing clear on the CT scan. They are recommending I redo the CT in a couple of months to see if anything appears the next go around. Also, she said the PFT's came back normal????? Which is very odd to me, because the tech who performed the tests told me I failed everyone, I guess the tech didn't know what she was talking about????

As far as the heart echo goes, she has yet to see the report, she is in the process of hunting down that report. I told her I had it done on 12/23 or 24, so she should definitely have it back by now. It will be my luck it's gotten lost in the mix of things.

She is referring me to a pulmonalogist, which is what I figured would be done. Thing is the one she wants me to see is in Iraq right now, so it will be a month or more before I see him. No biggie I guess.

Bottomline, she told me they have no clue as to what is going on or why! Makes one feel good, no? Seems to be the story of my life when it comes to health care. I have an appt coming up with my rheumy, I'll discuss all this with him and see what he suggests and we'll go from there.

I'm  not going to keel over anytime soon so I guess that's a good sign, ehh?

Hi Melissa,

Hmmm, I can see how that would baffle the doctors. How frustrating to have to wait some more on this. Now you have to wait the weekend out to find out about the echo. BAH!

You have a very positive attitude Melissa. I know you have a lot going on, and your posts are always so even-keeled and upbeat.  Your humor is wonderful!

I hope your weekend is a restful one.  We'll see what happens next week with your echo.  I'm very curious about those results, as I have mitral valve issues. I'm wondering if you have that too....

Take it easy!

Hi Melissa, yes it is a biggie. Don't blow off the pulm. You can always see that one later for a second opinion. Find out what is going in with your lungs ASAP. I wish I had gone to a pulm. early on instead of a pcp. I might not be this bad now. He just kept telling me I had asthma.

Hi Ladies,

The pulm. office did call me with an appt., I will see him on Feb. 18th. That's not too long off. What buts me the most is the issue of the echo, I want to know the results of that so bad and here I am waiting another weekend for them to hunt down the report! It's all out of my hands, so I try to not let it get the best of me, although at times I tell ya it can be very hard.

Ginny, I do have mitro valve prolapse, I was diagnosed with that several years back, actually I think even before lupus. I was on blood pressure medicine for it for many years, then I had to see a new cardio. doc and he thought things were good and saw no need for it when I had my last echo about 4 years ago. That's why I am a little more anxious to get the results to see how that valve is doing and if being off meds were a good or bad thing.

Ya'll have a great weekend. I hope you are feeling well and all is good in your world!

Melissa
