Hi Everyone:

Sorry I've not been around much lately. I've had a lot going on, I was in a car accident a week ago tomorrow. Thankfully, I wasn't hurt nor was the other driver. My car though has about $2500.00 worth of damage and is in the shop.

Anyway, I've not been feeling to well I still think I have the UTI I had. If this is the case I'll need to go into the hospital for IV antibiotics. For me to get the antibiotics I need my port, so the doctors agree to go ahead with my surgery in the morning. I have to be there a 6am and I'm due to go into the surgery at 8am. Since I have troubles having sedation they've decided to have me put out with general anesthesia. Which actually makes my doctor feel better, they'll place my port on my right side and there is a chance that they could hit my lung with the needle. It this happens my lung will collapse and I'll need a chest tube put in and I'll be placed in the ICU. The fact that the anesthesia folks will have my airway under control makes my doc feel better.

The Anesthesiologist looked over my chart this morning and he's decided that I need to spend the night tomorrow just in case. I was hoping to come home but I know the hospital is the better place for me. I just wanted to let you know what's happening and I'll post on Saturday when I'm home. If something should happen and I end up in the ICU Auntkay will get a phone call from Bill and she'll post and let you know. nono nono nono nothing is gonna happen though.

Hugs,
Barb

Hi Barb,

The IV port is just what you are needing to get the meds you need to get to feeling better! I am confident things will go just fine. You will be in my thoughts and prayers! When you are home and feeling better give us a shout out and let us know how it went.

Until then we'll be thinking of you!

Barb just called me a few minutes ago. Everything went well and they are not going to keep her overnight after all. She is a bit tired out and I'm sure she'll say hi once she feels better.

Hi Everyone:

Thanks for you well wishes. It's Saturday morning and I'm okay I guess. I've got quite a bit of pain and I can only lay on my back. I can bend over either, my husband and daughter are doing all the lifting and bending for me. I'm very bruised and I've yet to see the incision. It was oozing so they covered it. I'll remove the dressing tomorrow. Anyway I just wanted to say hello and say thanks for caring about me.

Love,
Barb

Barb,

I'm so glad you're doing ok, and I hope you feel better after the incision heals. Take good care of yourself!
