Hi winkle !
Welcome to the forum. Lupus is a HUGE topic. Each of us has such a different experience, as lupus can affect most any part of the body.
So sorry to hear about
your dad. The steroids 'can' work very quickly to help normalize things. But some flares just take a lot of time and trying different meds to help. I hope your dad is helped with the meds.
Can you tell us more about
his symptoms before going to the hospital?? Did this come on suddenly or has he had issues for years? Sometimes there is an initial dx of Lupus or some other autoimmune disorder, and then they realize that there is more than lupus going on. It can take a while to really pinpoint where each symptom is coming from, but the treatments can be similar.
Gald you found us!
