Well I'm setting back here shaking my head not knowing what to think. All this time my dr. has thought I have either got Lupus or scleroderma in my lungs. My father is still in hospital getting ready to go to another home for physical therapy. Guess what he was Dx'd with???????????????
Pulmonary Fibrosis! I looked it up and this is what it said about how you get it
Pulmonary Fibrosis can be caused by:
  • Autoimmune disease - your body's immune system is attacking your lungs, as a part of the disease, which may cause fibrosis. This may happen in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), or scleroderma.
  • It would be completely weird to think my 77 year old dad could pass this on to me. confused

Anyway He is a little better as far as knowing where he is but his breathing is bad and he can't walk at all.

That's about it for now. Seems like every thinkthat happens lately is going wrong. It would take 10 pages to explain everything so I'll just wait until things get better.

    love ya

((((( Carol ))))) I am so sorry, I wish there was something I could do or say to make things better. At this point all I can do for you and your dad is send up some prayers.

Has your dad ever had problems with his lungs or did the doctor's just discover this? The good thing is, if you do have the same thing as your dad or something similar, you have caught yours a lot earlier. I know it's still scary though. What kind of treatment plan do they have him on?

I pray your dad recovers from this, it may take some time, especially at his age. I know you have so many things going through your mind right now and things are keeping you busy but you need to take good care of yourself too so you won't head towards a flare. Take care, love ya sis!!!

Hi Stacie, thanks for responding, I'm sorry it took so long to get back to you. My mind has been french toast thispast week. Thankful the past couple days I've been doing better one day at a time.
I am only getting bits and pieces about my pops. he is in arizona and there is no way I can get there right now. They put him in a PT clinic. He has been on a couple of meds for high blood pressure and cumadine for blood thinner. Mom said they put him on 60mg of predisone right now to get the inflmation down in his lungs.
He was told about 30 years ago that he had a slight case of emphezema but he wasn't a smoker he did take that asbestos about of building and he was a fireman when he was younger. But they had those alarms for if the asbestos got real heavy. My mom is too tired for me to get much out of her. She is kind of like a zombie so I figured I would wait awhile and ask one of my brothers or my sister what's going on in a few days.
Anyway I really appreciate your prayers hun
    take care
    love ya
