I have an appt thursday with the surgeon. I won't be done with all my tests but I'm sure he will have some sort of idea on how I'm doing so far. After the first 15 tests rolleyes . Than friday I seen my internist/pcp. I neeed scripts for 6 months worth of all my meds because my stupid medicaid is giving me fits. I had to put out 33 bucks for my effexor today. That was after my champva picked up 75% of it. but if I can get my meds by mail and pay nothing than I'll do it. I didn't have all these problems last year. I guess medicaid changed some rules this year. Plus I have to set up for a colonoscopy, mamogram, pap smear. Which I havn't had done in 25 years or so. I figured they took everything out when I was 26. I can't have a whole lot to check out in there. After that I go see a cardiologist about having a heart cath done. They said it has to be done in the hospital and It starts at 7am and I get done about 2pm. If I don't get approved for a lung transplant after all of this. I will be the healthiest dead person around! tongue
anyway It's almost 6 am. I don't know why I am up at 6 am but I'm sure I'll pay for it later.
love ya all I miss ya too. I just get to posting responses and get pooped out fast. smurf Can't wait to get better.

Hey Carol! If I would have known you where on here at 6 we could have had a party! For some reason I have been waking up about 5 every morning for no reason....Well, I guess Lupus is a reason but you know what I mean. I know you must be nervous about all the tests on Thursday...you will be in my thoughts and I have to say you gave me a really good chuckle when I read that you would be the healthiest dead person around. I am so glad you can still have a good since of humor after everything you are going through. Let us know how everythings goes Thursday!!
Love ya

Carol,

This has been such an ordeal for you, and you still have so many tests, but in the long run it will be so worth it. Sorry I wasn't around when you called yesterday. I worked in the yard all day and boy am I paying for it today. But it's the most enjoyable exercise I know of.

Let me know when you'll be here on Thursday and I'll go with you. Who's bringing you?

Hi ya Aims and Patty, thanks for the shout. Amy anytime you are up and want to talk just post does anyone want to chat and ya never know. I actually go through phases. I'll probably sleep good tonight since I didn't sleep last night but a couple of times a week I spend it up talking to the cat and dog. They are so funny. My kitten is going on 4 months old and my dog is about 6 and weighs about 60 lbs. they lay together stretched out on the floor. It's too cute. The chihaua just had 9 pups of which 6 lived 4 weeks ago. They are half the size of momma dog now. 1 is all white but looks like it got picked up by a mechanic so I call him smudge! all white with little black eyes. I wish I knew how to do my camera so I could post emon the net somewhere.
I say all this because right now we have 10 dogs and 2 cats. and the pshychiatrist started to say something about animals. If he says they have to go. That is not gonna happen. Well most of the pups will but that still leaves 5 dogs and two cats. I know you have to be careful because of the dander and the lungs but man I am an animal person. it would break my heart.
ok enough of that. Amy I gotta say 5 am you are sicker than you think girlfriend! Patty don't you worry about not being there I am just glad you were able to get out.side for awhile. Oklahoma sure has had a weird winter hasn't it? what have we had about 4 inch. of snow all winter? Not that I'm complaining. I read on the internet that it was supposed to be a warmer than normal march and april. YESSSSSSSSS!
I love it. Well since we talked on the phone already I guess I'll just be looking forward to seeing you on thursday. Anyone else want to meet us there? We are eating in the cafeteria. I have to have people sign a paper to give to my doctor to prove I have friends that won't mind setting at the hospital with me taking shifts. I'm sure a lot of my church friends will be there but I have to get an apartment down there after the surgery for a few weeks at least and I can't be alone there either. I have to be with in 45 min of the hospital until I am healthy enough to go home. Once I get aproved I have to start a fund raiser for everything that insurance doesn't pay for. Like an apartment and food and gas and to pay for the time off work that people have to take to stay with me. I do have someone that is in the shriners that is interested in starting it. Wow bunches of stuff!
ok I'm out of here. I'm feeling hyper tonight. Can you tell? lol
love ya guys
thanks again

Hey Carol - just wanted to add my prayers and positive thoughts for this next stage.  Your attitude is admirable! My husband and I flew out to AZ to help my mother get ready for her move to a retirement home.  My body doesn't like traveling much ( I love it - too bad I can't just leave my body at home LOL) I caught a cold/sinus infection - probably from someone on the airplane - then went into a flare for 2 days after being outside in the sunshine for about 20 min. at noon - no sunscreen.  Someone just told me Plaquenil makes you more sun - sensitive.  Live and learn.  Feeling better tonight - but Lord - my attitude was deplorable!

I also just wanted to tell you I had a heart cath a couple years ago and it was a breeze.  I worried and fretted for nothing.   Blessings to you - keeping you in my thoughts and prayers (and trying to complain less wink )

Hi Lucy, so was the weather nice in phoenix? I imagine it was. I didn't even own a coat until I  moved to oklahoma. Yes that traveling can be tough on ya. I have been so fortunate that I don't get bad in the sun. I have a slight rash on my face that looks like red freckles it never goes away. Plus I got those spider like veins all over my neck and back so I keep them covered. But no flares from the sun thank goodness because I love it so much.

Thank you for sharing about the heart cath. Just looking at it on the website scared me. smhair . Also thank you for the prayers I think that is the only thing that has kept me going for this long. I have been on oxygen since 2003 I just pray I can get off of it some day soon. I hope you get over the infection soon. It is so easy to get sick around people. They have a kids night at church on wednesdays so I will make something or buy something to contribute but there is no way I can get around 20 or 30 kids that have drippy noses and stuff. I miss out on a lot that way.

thanks again for responding

hugs

Hey Okie - yes the weather is sublime here.  This extreme sun sensitivity is new to me.  I'm fair and have always sunburned quickly, but feeling so poorly after being out in it is a new twist.  It will convert me to being a dedicated sunscreen user for sure - just hope that will do the trick.  Will have to get myself a hat as well.

I hope being on oxygen will soon become a thing of the past for you.  You've worked really hard to get to this point - just keep on truckin'!  Prayers are powerful - I sure will keep you in mine!

Carol didn't get to Oklahoma City today after all. She has a bad case of influenza, an infection in her lungs, dangerously high blood pressure, and took an ambulance to the hospital last night. They sent her home, and I don't know why. She sounds awful. The surgeon in OKC called her to find out why she cancelled her appointments, so they are keeping close tabs on her.

She's really having a tough time. Her blood pressure was 200+ over 80 & she was given nitro so now she has a splitting headache on top of everything else. Poor kid. I don't know what to do for her except to offer her a shoulder.

Hi All:

Just wanted to post that I spoke with Carol this morning, she sounds terrible. She said she's feeling so horrible and can't believe they sent her home. She said that she called her home care worker and asked her why she didn't visit Carol yesterday and she replied that she was there and they sat and talked for 15 minutes. Carol apparently forgot that the lady was there, she said that she'd taken no narcotics either.

It sounds like her brain fog is really bad and I really feel for her. I asked if she'd go back to the doctor and she wasn't sure if she would or not. She's in really really bad shape. Please keep Carol in your prayers.

Love,
Barb

I received a call from Carol this morning and she sounded worse than she ever has, plus she sounded desperate. I strongly urged her to call her doctor and ask to be re-admitted to the hospital but she didn't want to because she "doesn't call her doctor on the weekends". I told her that I thought she should have her doctor paged. Now I can't reach her. Hopefully she's just on the phone with someone else. If she has been hospitalized, hopefully she has her phone with her.

I considered going to get her and bringing her down here to take care of her but since I'm immunosuppressed, it would be dangerous for me to be around someone with influenza. I'm at a loss as to what to do. The next time I hear from her I'm going to get her brother's phone number. I met him when she came down for her informational meeting at the hospital so I'd feel does talking to him.

If any of you has heard from her, please let me know. I'll update you when I hear anything.

What worries me the most is that she was sent home from the hospital. That 's worrysome.

Hope everyone else is having a decent day today.

Pat

I got through to Carol this morning. She's at home and sick with no one to help care for her. At least we know that she's not in the hospital. I'm concerned that her brother and SIL don't take any interest in her or her illnesses.

Oh my! I wish I was close enough to go over and offer a hand. Sometimes just having someone there to sit with you or fix you a sandwich and get you a glass of juice is so comforting! Dang it! If I had the strength and was close enough I kick that brother and SIL right in the hind end for not helping her out!

I'll say an extra prayer for her tonight !

I just want to make this quick. First thank you Pat and Barb for updating everyone and for you phone calls. I would love to thank everyone personelly for your thoughts and prayers but I just can't right now. My lungs do feel a bit better bu I woke up with herpies on my face and glands so bad I can't touch my neck without pain pills. I've only taken to pain pills since thursday because it's not the best for respitory problems. I am out of anti-b and afraid my lungs will get worse again. Someone is coming over hopfully later to see if I should go back to the hospital. It won't be the same one though.

ok I'm out of energy

love you all thank you all
