Hi all!  I just wanted to share a few things with everyone because if its simple and it could help make our lives better I believe its worth a shot.  A friend of mine is doing the biggest loser locally and every week they learn different things about people's diets that if tweaked to an extent will help their body overall significantly.  The first thing she brought back to work to share with me is that if you are having joint pain (that's alot of us on here) that making sure you've had enough water throughout the day is the best and most natural way to fight that problem.  However, I'm always drinking water (my friend pointed that out to me too) and I still have joint pain, but for those that maybe aren't getting enough water this may help some.
 
The second thing that was brought up in their meeting was the use of fiber.  The man that speaks to them is a nutrionist, not a doctor, but he told them a story of a woman who was diagnosed with mild asthma and other types of breathing problems.  She had gone to a holistic place where they took some blood and tested it to see what her body was lacking.  When the results were back she was very low on fiber.  Women should have at least 25grams of fiber in their diets daily.  So the woman did her best to get this extra fiber in her diet and before long she didn't have these breathing issues.  She has not had to use her inhaler ever since she figured this out.  Fiber has a way of helping the digestive systems, but is also an important element in your pulmonary system too.
 
If you are wanting to try this method (I'm giving it a shot-after all its just fiber) you can go www.calorieking.com to check fiber contents on the foods you are eating so you can get your 25 a day.  I'm sitting here at breakfast and I've just had 18 grams.  I found an english muffin that carries 8 grams and All Bran cereal (strawberry medley is good) has 10 grams per cup.  So, I'm just a couple of fruits away from my 25.  In a few weeks I will hopefully know whether or not this fiber theory is true and I hope others will benefit from it as well.

Hi Tammy--
I make a low cal Peach Melba smoothie with the diet V8 splash tropical blend and diet raspberry syrup like you put in coffee, not pancake syrup. I add a bit of frozen raspberries and peaches just for texture, a dollop of probiotic plain yogurt, whey protein powder with no soy or additives but amino acids, full spectrum digestive enzymes (I have to pry the capsules apart), half again water, and of course, fiber.

The result is yummy, low in potassium, low sodium, high fiber with the digestive enzymes and probiotics we need to digest anything we eat. Its so low in carbs and sugar free but is really good. And with the enzymes, the probiotics and the fiber, my gi tract at least has been right as rain. It really does make quite a difference!

The drawback is the sweeteners, but I use sparingly, and at least I'm getting the nutrition down despite nausea and its bearable. I wishmore products used stevia because I would use them.
