Hi Everybody. I talked with Carol today. She has to get a heart catheterization test as part of her routine lung transplant prep tests. So she'll need to stay in the hospital for that, but she needs to stay in anyway to build her strength. She tried walking for the first time today and could only go bout 25 feet. She more concerned about her father who is hospitalized and extremely ill. She asked for prayers for him. That's it for today. Love, Butterflake

Hi All:

I spoke with Carol a couple of hours ago, her heart cath is being postponed. Her insurance will not cover her to stay in the current hospital and wait for the cath. They are planning on moving Carol of a different hospital that offers pulmonary rehab. It sounds like Carol will be in the hospital for several weeks.

She was very upset and just wanted to go home. Of course she can't do that there's no one available to care for her. Her brother had back surgery yesterday and he's still in the hospital and her sister in law will be of zero use to Carol. Carol's dad is in the ICU on a vent and Carol is very very worried about him and her mother has pneumonia too. Please keep Carol and her family in your prayers.

I talk with Carol twice a day and I'll try to get the address of where she's going so that we can send her get well cards. Carol really needs a lot of positive energy she's very very down. I'll keep you updated I'll talk with her tonight.

Hugs,
Barb

Hi All:

Just wanted to update what's going on with Carol. She's been moved from the hospital that she was at and now she's at another place that does pulmonary rehab. When I spoke with her I asked if it was a nursing home that she is in and she couldn't tell me whether it was or not.

Carol is really really depressed and worrying about her dad. She sounded so down I felt so bad that I can't do anything for her. She was talking about asking to leave cause she's not sure how long she'll be able to handle being there. I encouraged her to stay the course, that she doesn't have anyone at home to care for her and that we all want her to feel better really soon.

Here is her telephone number 580-362-6772 and if you get a chance maybe you could give her a call. She needs all the encouragement and contact as possible. Patty Latty, plans on visiting Carol again soon and will print out our threads for her to read. I'll keep you posted on how she's doing.

Carol, you hang in there, you're getting better day by day. I know you've got a lot going on with you dad and mom, but you have to take care of you before you can go there and help them. Know that I'm praying for you and I'll talk with you in the morning.

Hugs,
Barb

Carol's address is:

Integris NW Specialty Hospital
401 South Third
Enid OK 73701

Room 4210
Carol Skrzypek

She called and gave it to me with hopes that she'd get a card or two.

She started physical therapy today and said she just wants to be left alone and that she wants to go home. She needs encouragement because if she doesn't get physical therapy she's going to have a tough time getting back her strength, and until she does, they likely won't send her home.

She sends everyone her love.

Hi All:

I just spoke with Carol and her father passed away this evening. Carol is devastated and needs all our support and prayers. We didn't speak long Carol was very upset naturally. I'll keep my cell phone near by through out the night in case she calls. Otherwise, I'll speak with her in the morning. Please keep Carol in your prayers.

Carol, I'm so sorry for the passing of you Dad. I know how hard it is to loose a parent. I know this isn't much comfort but he's in a much better place now. He's having no shortness of breath or pain or anything. Your Dad knows you love him and he'll always love you. You're in my prayers.

Love,
Barb

Carol,

I am thinking of you in this time of great hardship and though I don't say very much, I think of you often and admire the spirit that you keep displaying despite the rough times you are having.

I once heard it said that the strongest of us are given the greatest trials - Not sure I agree in the slightest with the logic there, but you are definitely strong and I hope that your strength, your believes, and your friends can carry you through.

My heart goes out to you, Carol.  I'm so sorry about your Dad.  You just have way too much on your shoulders right now....wish there was a way to help you carry it for awhile.  Sending you love and peace - and praying for your continued strength.  Your spirit is mighty....hold on.
