I know this group has talked about stocking up on lightbulbs in case the "green freaks" get incandescent bulbs outlawed but here something else.  I was watching the news yesterday and Glenn Beck was talking about of group that is trying to place limitations on your home thermostats.  Basically if you use more power then they think you should, a switch will be set off and cause your unit not to function properly.  I don't know about you guys, but anything above 70 degrees I get a headache and anything below 66 causes worse joint pain.  Now I'm sure there will be some kind of specail permits authorized for people with medical problems, but I imagine it would be about as easy as getting approved for disability.  Just wanted to give everyone a heads up, we may have a tough battle just to keep our homes at a comfortable temperature.  I'm hoping this whole idea falls completely flat, but in case it doesn't be ready to contact your congressman.  God Bless.

In my email to Glenn Beck, I think I actually called them "climate natzis". We'd better keep our eyes those that will make us suffer for a lower carbon footprint. Thanks for the reply.

i agree it would be disastrous for us if they decide to regulate how much energy we use!

we have no flourescents in our house not only because of the UV but because my kids (who have autism) cannot stand the flicker and hum of a flourescent bulb! on top of that, we go from heating to cooling and back to heating because i can't stand to be in a room that is over 70 degrees . . . i have so many issues with heat intolerance, as i am sure you all do too.

hopefully this all falls through and we have nothing to worry about . . . either that or i am just going to have to buy a generator so that when they cut out my power because i use too much, i have a backup source!
