I went to my pcp today.  Had very bad day yesterday with vertigo, which I hardly ever get, along with  profound fatigue/malaise, and decided it was time to check in w/ a doc.  He ran my tracer labs and a urinalysis to check for AI flare, but said the fibro points were very "jumpy" and figured the traveling in late Feb.(and the stress of getting my mother moved to a retirement home) triggered a fibro flare that may take me a couple more weeks to move past.  He Rx'd Lodine(Etodolac) for pain, which I've never taken before.  It's an anti-inflammatory.  Anybody taken it or have any experience with it?   He also gave me an Rx for Antivert in case the vertigo comes back.  Never taken that either.    If this is just fibro - it sure is kickin' my butt!

Thanks -
Lucy

Did not like lodine. But, it was RXed for me during my first ever RA flare when I expected meds to work and work quickly. I took the lodine and still hurt all the time so was very unhappy with it.

I take Lodine XL. Not sure what it does for me because I'm on plaq, pred, and MTX also. I guess its just part of the cocktail to keep my inflammation down. I know by itself it's not enough though. I did try other NSAIDs before being put on Lodine. Lodine was just easier on my stomach than the others, maybe because its a slow release (mine is XL). I hope it helps you.

Thanks guys.  I actually had a stomach flare up w/ diarrhea after taking it 2 days.  It's the generic for Lodine XL.  Not 100% sure it was due to the med - but nearly so.  May try it again to be positive.  While it took a bit of the edge off the pain, it didn't seem to help enough to make it worth the discomfort that followed.  Thanks for posting.
