Hello Tammy,

Welcome to our forum.  I've started a new thread for you.  That way everyone knows you're here.  I've also pasted your two posts for others to read.

Blessings!

Hi Everyone. I am new to this site and so thankful I found you. Renee I have been in rough shape for about 5 weeks and pednisone did not help. I also am wondering why at 40 mgs I not only did not get better, I lost 8 pounds from nausea. The chills made me shake for hours at nightime and sleep was rough. I have all kinds of worries like, "How will I keep my job? How can I keep my house up?" Is there any other drug that I can take? I am on mobic, plaquenil,colchicine,etc.,etc.plus herbs.  Peace to you, Tammy

Thanks for the welcome! I am tearful at being able to talk to someone else who has pain and extreme fatigue. I have felt very alone in this. I have been diagnosed for three years and it has been rough. Steroids do very little to calm the reoccuring pericarditis. I've been doing some reading and learned that nsaids are more effective. I called my doc and have not received a call back yet. Has anyone had better luck with nsaids. I am on mobic which helps my joints a lot. However the inflamation around my heart is a real PAIN in returning every couple weeks or months. Now that the sun is shining more, I am really struggling. I feel like I have the flu almost daily. Sheesh! Thanks again for the welcome! I am NOT ALONE!!!

Hi Loved !!

Welcome to the forum! Glad you found us!

I actually use a big golf umbrella in the summer. I also wear a long sleeved man's shirt that can cover right over my hands . . . even while I'm driving. Ya, the sun is hard to avoid sometimes. I'm so sorry you are having such a hard time right now. I hope some of the others will have some suggestions.

Blessings!

Just wanted to give you a big welcome also. I dont write a lot but this group of friends are so special caring and supportive. I also suffer from reacurring pericarditis. I am currently on a medrol dose pack right now from this current episode. I also flared up with the pericarditis 3 weeks ago too. So I do know how you feel but dont know how to get it under control. I am on plaquinel, prednisone, 6 mp, cochicine, propranolol, etc and still fighting frequent flare ups. I already have tried methotrexate, and imuran with no more success. Just take it one day at a time is all we can do. Come back here and post as much as you like. It is helpful to not feel alone in this!

I also wanted to say Welcome, so glad you found the forum. It is a bit overwhelming when you realize you're not alone in this battle. What a blessing to be able to talk to people experiencing the same issues. Judy

Welcome Welcome Welcome! It is very refreshing to have other people who can understand what you are going through. To me, family is really understanding but they don't really know what its like! That is why I love HW so well! Hope you stick around :-)! Everyone on here is really supportive and helpful!

Wow! Thank you all for this warm welcome. I know nothing about using a thread, LOL but at 51 I can do it! Monday I go to see a new rhumatologist foor a second opinion and so I hope and pray she will have some new answers. This week has been rough and yet I know it will all work out. God bless each of you on this journey. Tammy

Tammy,

A thread is a topic. So sorry . . . My first forum experience was a lupus board too and I felt lost with some of the terminology and online etiquette, etc. You can email me by clicking the tiny blue envelope under my member name to the left of this post. Make sure to type "Healing Well" or "LovedbyHim" in the topic of your email because it may come in my box as spam and I want to be able to recognize you. I can share a little more by email. I'm 56 . . . so I can really relate to you.

Blessings!
