A few days out of town caused a flare. I guess it was worth it because we did have a good time but this morning I felt my body breaking down and by 10 am was back in bed. I was able to sleep all day so hopefully tomorrow will be better. I'm tapering off my prednisone from a meager 5 mg but am determined to get off of it completely. I'm going a half mg a day for a couple of months at a time but can tell the difference if I push myself. Carol, I hope this doesn't keep me in through the end of the week because I won't get to meet up with you Thursday.

We are fostering a little rescue dog and I'm terribly allergic to her and I don't think this is helping either. I hope the rescue folks can find her a new foster home soon.

This is just a friendly reminder to myself to always take care of myself or I'll pay the price.

((((((((( Patty )))))))))))))

So sorry you are having trouble. I hope you feel better before Thursday so you don't miss your visit with Okie.

Ummm . . . I am an avid dog lover . . . but that dog has to go. Call the rescue group and tell them how sick you are . . . they should come and get him/her right away. As someone else posted recently **in case of emergency, put YOUR own oxygen mask on first **

Blessings!

Rosie,

Thanks for your support. I'm so torn because the little dog -- a beautiful young long-haired dachshund -- has been traumatized and loves me to death but won't let anyone else near her, but I knew she has to go. I set a message to the rescue people but wasn't too forceful that it needs to be as soon as possible. There's a couple who wants her but can't take her for a month. I'm not overly concerned but do know that while I'm feeling bad I don't need anything else to upset my immune system.

Thanks,

Pat

Ouch! Always a tug on the heartstrings!! Make sure to speak up for yourself. Maybe hubby would do it on your behalf. With a time limit of one month, I bet someone would be willing to help out. But you really need to take care of you!! (spoken softly and lovingly)

Blessings!

Hi Pat. I'm sorry ur having such a rough time. I'm a big animal lover (I have 1 dog, 2 cats, 2 birds), but the little doxy ur caring for needs to be fostered by someone else. The sooner the better, to help ur health and keep u from getting attached more than u already are. I love doxies too. She will be adopted soon. Love, Butterflake

Hi Patty, I'm sorry that you are feeling horrible. Yes, I agree that the allergies are probably going to keep you from getting out of that flare and it can't be good for you. I absolutely love animals too (especially dogs) but I agree that your health has to be your top priority right now. I know, easier said than done. Maybe ask the rescue group if a current foster home could take on the dog. It's hard though especially when one or both of you get attached to each other. The good thing is that its one dog that you have to worry about and not a house full. That would be tough! I'm keeping you in my thoughts.

Take Care

Thank you guys. So much. This flare (really a mini flare) is causing the most brain fog I've ever had. Plus I have the shakes. Very strange.

Hi Pat:

I'm so so sorry that you're flaring (((gentle hugs))) to you. I'll be praying for you and hoping that this flare quickly resolves itself. Did you phone your doctor? Possibly he will have a suggestion for you. I'm still feeling very unwell so I can't sit up to long to type. I'll make sure to check on your posts. I hope you feel better real soon.

Love,
Barb
