Well, this one really suprised me.  Growing up, I had two brothers, both older then me by 2 and 4 years.  The middle brother and I fought like cats and dogs.  We inflicted the cruelest of emotional torture on each other as kids,  and today, although we get along fine at family gatherings, we are on opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to politics and religion.  Well, I got an email a couple of days ago that he is joining the Walk for Lupus, April 25 in Atlanta, because his little sister has Lupus and he wants to help.  WOW!!!  I was shocked!  This made my day and made me see how much he cares.  Family will always be family, always love you and suprise you when you least expect it.  turn yeah yeah yeah yeah turn    Happy Dance!

Good Deal!

If he wants to meet any of your HealingWell friends, both Butterflake (Donna) and I will be there. Just have him look for Team Butterflake!

Those distant-seeming family members do occasionally come thru and say they care -- in their own special ways. My brother and father now ask me how I'm doing whenever we talk -- the most personal question I've ever gotten from them. Usually it's just the weather! LOL

That's terrific Jennifer! I doubt that my brother even knows what lupus is.

P.S. That sounded mean. My brother lives in China and I only see him about once a year & I love him dearly. The rest of my family is supportive and understanding.

Hi Puccini93, your message blessed me so much. I am one of 6 kids and we fought like crazy when we were kids. I can't say my family "gets it" when it comes to the Lupus. I have a church family and lots of friends who truly understand and help me a lot. I guess I have new family in HW as well :-) . How happy I am for you though. :-) God bless. Tammy
