Has anyone been diagnosed with cold induced urticaria along with Lupus, or any time in the past. I ask this because as a oung adult I had cod induced urticaria that was severe. I was on prednisone  for it. I do get slight flairs of it now in my "older" adult life. I am trying to put tus puzzle together of mine. sever pelvic pain, hives, rash on face, fatigue ( I slept for 13 hous and I am still tired) , muschle weekness in morning, swelling in feet and hands, blood in urine, sun sensitivity, chrons disease. and now weight gain. No one can seem to put it all together. I was doing some reserch on line and I cam accross the Uticaria. Some of the sited do say that i is autoimmune disease.  I guess my questions is if I had this in the past, does that point to Lupus now in anyway. My gp did a sed rate test and they said it was within normal range. Does this mean there is no way it could be lupus. I don't want to have it but maybe by having a diagnosis I can get some relief. The only time I was not in pain is when I was on Prednisone for chrons. I want to ask my Dr. just to put me on it so we can see if I get any relief.
Any comments would help, I need some suggestions to talk to dr. tomorrow. It is my pelvic specialist.

Hello hydrangea,

Sorry you are having so many problems. Is Uticuria hives??? If so, do you know what causes them? Sun, food, anxiety???

Suggestion: Take pictures of the hives. Note if you have rash on your cheeks. Do you have any sores in your mouth? Nose?

Sed rate can be raised from any inflammation, so its not unique to Lupus . . . but folks with Lupus often have elevated Sed rate with flare.

The sores on your scalp could be Discoid Lupus. A dermatologist can take a biopsy to know for sure.

The sun sensitivity is common in lupus. But is also a common side affect of many meds.

I wonder if your pelvic pain might be caused by Crohn's activity. Pelvic pain is common with crohn's flares.

*sighhhhhh* I hope your doctor appointment goes well. Keep us posted!!

Blessings!

Thank you for your response. No to the crohs flair. I am in remission. The cold has caused the hives. Dr. put iced cube on arm. I am not on any meds that would cause rash from the sun that I know of. Looking forward to dr.
