Hi all   long time not posting. fast update. Around Christmas I posted to say I had a lump on the back of my neck. The size of a golf ball. Drs gave me antiinflamitorys and antibiotics  (sp?). lump went down and later in went down more. Went to acute care(militory DRS) and they gave me more antibiotics. I had noticed I had these big red spots around groin and under big boobs chalked it up to sweat. I saw the demrotologist and shot it up with steroids( lump that is) . Nothing happened... Last Thursday he removed it.YAHHH.. yeah not so fast..  The lump was over my spine and at the base of my skull. I had to lay for 45 min. perfitically still. If I moved and dr spilled well you can get the jist..4 internal stitches and her quarterized in there 8 times (I couned) and a long running stitch 1 1/2 inch long. I have been doing everything he has told me to do keeping it covered and clean and applying vasaline. Using baby shampoo on my hair.(forgot to tell you the lump was up about 2 inches in my hair back of hair shaved)The bandages just were not clean they were yellow and spotted with blood and insision hurt. Called Dr monday he said get in ASAP. He is not sure what is going on. Lots of things thown into pot I could be having reactions to the thread they used for stitches or the bandages or my diabetes. I asked about the Lupus and they said not sure with out doing more testing. He and the other Dr there said to try leaving the bandges off and just use the vasaline to keep it moist and more antibiotcs.  Stitches were to come out today they wanted to keep them in untill Monday... Do you remember the red spots I mentioned...they are back. My Dr was off but the other Dr was there and told me to stop using meds I have a allergy. I am  allergic to Phenasilion(sp) so go figure.  SO here I sit with big red spots (husband  wants to play connect the dots I do not think so) and back of neck stitched up..
The test results from the bioposy on it were good except for the fact that it had exploied twice once when it was in and when he took it out.

So how has everyone else been???

Lupus since 2005, Fiberomyalgia since 2006,  sjogren's syndrome since 2005,  diabetes since 2006, Depression since 2004. who would not be with all of this.

I just try to make it threw every day as best I can.

Hey Denise,

WOW.  That is really something isn't it?  I sure hope there is nothing to that lump.  Maybe it's just a cyst or something?  I had a cyst the size of a golf ball on the very tip of my tailbone.  Basically right at the top of my butt crack.  It was growing under the skin and no one had any idea how big it was until the surgery.  I was left with a hole big enough to drop a golf ball into it!  That surgery was 20 years ago and the hole is totally healed over now.  But it was WEIRD.....

I'm also allergic to Penicillin!  Big red dots. Yuppers.

So glad you caught us up with how you're doing.  Please let us know what the biopsy reveals okay?  Take it easy and have a good sleep,

Love
Ginny

Denise, I'm sorry you are having problems, I had a cyst on my arm which they took out, hope that's all it is!! about the red spots I'm not sure of, I hope it's from your meds and not a lupus flare. Take Care

Denise, I really hope you feel better soon. I am allergic to pennicillian but I get hives so bad they worry my throat will swell closed. Actually I am allergic to so many antibiotics if I get an infection I am in trouble. I really hope that the incision from the lump heals correctly. I am sorry it gave you so much trouble.

LovedByHim -

"lumph" node - I love that, great way to describe a lump in the lymph node.

I know it was unintentional, but couldn't help but point out the funny! :-)

Thanks for all the kind words. This has been a rough road with this. Yes it was just a cyst. This one kept bursting. I can finally move my head now with out having the stitches hurt and I can also touch it today with out all the pain just a bit of discomfert. Once again thank you all and how good it feels to take a shower and get my hair wet. I had to go a few days with out doing that.

I am glad you are feeling better. My only experience with cysts is on my ovaries- something I have the joy of currently experiencing for the 4th time that we know of and probably the 11th time given the symptoms. I really hope that you heal well. I hate not being able to wash my hair regularly.

Glad to hear things are improving. Enjoy the hot tub for me, I really wish I had even a tub that was big enough to soak in.

Hi Tink, I hope you continue to do well. Did dr. say what caused the cyst? The only ones I have ever had are like redrose, they are/were all on the inside. one is still on my kidney and one on my overies which I don't have anymore.

If you popped a few stiches it was probably just some of your brain growning out of your head. yeah

hugs
