Hello Everyone,  I was wondering if anyone in GA has been to the Lupus Clinic at Emory in Atlanta or has found an understanding Rheumy?  I've only been to one and he really messed things up for me.  I'm hoping to find one that really understands Lupus and is also pro-SSD and willing to work with me on this.  My DH is self-employed and we don't have private health insurance.  Right now things are so bad that we actually qualified for low-income medicaid, so I'm trying to do my Rheumy shopping now while I have coverage.  I live up in the mountains of North Georgia, so I'll have a drive wherever I end up.  I've checked with LFA and cross referenced with my medicaid provider list, but I'm looking for feedback from people who have actrually found someone they are happy with.  There is no chance I'll ever be able to afford private health insurance, especially with all the AI issues reflected in my bloodwork.  I have to get SSI/SSD in order to have any kind of coverage and not end up crippling my family with the financial burden of my health care.  Loooking forward to hearing as many positive replies as possible.  Thanks so much.

If you'll email me or put your email on HW I'd be happy to send you some names, but I don't feel comfortable putting them on the open forum.

Hi, I haven't been to the Emory clinic but I do see a great rheumy in Atlanta. I live in N GA too and I knew I would have to drive to Atlanta to see a decent doctor. I am sure Lynn knows her but I will send you an email. I do hope you find one that can help you.
