Hi Everyone:

Just wanted to drop a quick line to let you all know I'm home. It's been a long 3 weeks for me and I'm totally wiped out. I went to Minnesota to be with my Dad while my Stepmom went to Ireland, Scotland, and England for 3 weeks.

I had to do everything for my father, he's almost totally dependent. I had to take 50mg of pred a day to manage to make it through. I got the feeling that I may not see my father alive ever again. He's in terrible shape and he's disheartened by his condition. I think he's been holding on just to see me. He also had to come face to face with how sick I am too.

While I was away from my home, my 16 yr old daughter was bitten by a copperhead snake and thankfully she's fine. She had her first date and dyed her hair while I was gone. Seems I missed out on a lot of things LOL.

Anyway, I'm home and hope to catch up on much needed rest. I see my Internist tomorrow and on Friday I'll start my first dose of Remicade to treat my RA. I'm hoping that it doesn't affect my lupus. Well I'm gonna close, hope you are well and having pain free days.

Hugs,
Barbara

Hi Barb,

I'm glad you made it home safe and sound.  It sounds like you need to catch up on your rest.  I hope your remicade treatment goes well tomorrow, I will be thinking about you.   I will call you over the weekend to see how you are doing.

Hi Barb!

It's so good to see you back here again and know that you survived the trip! You're an angel to take care of you dad like you did. I know it's hard to watch Nikkita grow up, but it doesn't mean she won't still be close to you. My daughter is 21 and very independent, but we're closer now than we've ever been. So the best is yet to come.

Take care and get some rest. I hope you're recovering from your trip.

((((Hugs))))

Welcome back. I am sorry to hear about your father, my grandfather held on just long enough to see me when he was dying of cancer so I know what you mean about him hanging on to see you. I do not look forward to first dates, the idea scares me and makes me feel old since it will happen in the next few years for my oldest (she will be 15 this year). I hope the new medicine works, is that the IV one I forget. I dread the day enbrel stops working because then it will be IV meds and I hate IVs.
