I don't know if this is important or not. I will assume it is because anything could be a piece of the puzzle. I have developed a strange feeling in the right side of my face near my ear. It hurts when I open my mouth wide enough to eat a sandwich but doesn't hurt much when I talk. It doesn't feel like an ear infection. It is hard to describe, but rather painful and I will also feel pain when I grit my teeth or bite down hard. It is only on that right side. Does this sound worth mentioning to my doctor? Good gosh oh mosh, I feel like I'm falling apart. shakehead

I don't think it is anything serious but I would get it checked by a Dr. just to set your mind at ease. I've had episodes similar to that in the past on several occasions but they have always gone away. Good luck and keep us posted.

sounds like to could be TMJ, which is stress-induced.  Not sure of the treatment for that, but any reputable dentist could possibly help.  I also get this when I'm seriously stressed.  When the stress relaxes, so does my jaw.  It is painful, though.  Hope you feel better soon.

It also sounds like TM joints to me. I had those pain long time ago for quite a number of years. My mouth could not open wide but only enough to stick two fingers in that time. Now those pain are gone. I do not know why. I thought it's related to my lupus. I would mention to the doc.
