Had a bad cold or flu (swine??) about three weeks ago and still have a lingering cough. Saw rheumy at regular 4 mth checkup today. He said left and right lungs were decidedly different, and sent me off to xray.

I hope its walking pneumonia or bronchitis -- NOT lupus!

So that's my update of the day..........bla.

Well, when you are always a bit tired from lupus, how can you tell if you're a bit tired from not breathing quite right?

I feel fine, except for an occasional really bad sounding cough. Of course, after all the deep breathing while they listened to my lungs yesterday, I woke up congested this morning.

Looked at the calendar and the bad cold (?) I had was June 9-14, so I guess it is a while for a cough to be hanging on. Have to call about Xray tomorrow.

Thanks, guys!

So the doctor now says, after reading the xrays, nothing is wrong with me. Wonder how much *that* xray is going to cost me.

So I guess the fact that left & right lungs sound different isn't an issue. And maybe I'm not coughing, but I sure thought I was...and maybe the tightness & pain right under my sternum is fibromyalgia...I might bump my prednisone up a couple of mg to see if it's lupus inflammation.

Sad, I just went from 5 to 4, hate to go up again. Maybe 6 or 7 will be the magic number.

Aw, well...

Ugh, Lynnwood, isn't this always how it seems to work out?  Of course all the coughing and pain is completely in your head.... BAH.  I'm frustrated for you.  I think bumping the pred up a notch or two is not a bad idea at all.  If you find that you feel worse doing that, then at least you know it's not inflammation.  Let us know how you make out.

Hey Lynn:

What a HUGE bummer that the xray was okay.  I know that you were hoping that you could pin this onto something and not hear everything is fine.  I really hope it's not your lupus acting up.  Upping your pred sounds like a good idea.  Please keep me informed on how you're doing.  I'll send my positive energy your way I think you need it more than me.  It was great to talk with you today.  Know that you're always in my thoughts and you can call on me anytime.  Take care and hang in there.

Love,
Barb

I am so sorry this is happening to you. I hope you just have a cold or allergies and that the lung issues are not lupus.

Lynnwood,

I had bronchitis a few weeks ago and it took forever for the cough to go away. I coughed up 'stuff' for about three weeks after I started to feel better. I attributed that to the fact that it just takes me so much longer to heal than it did pre-lupus. I hope that's what's going on with you.

Sorry you're having to up your prednisone. I fight that battle too and just hate it. Are you doing any better?

I never did up the pred, still testing 4 mg. But have been running a fever & feeling more fatigue than usual the last few days. Guess I really should increase it - I just really don't want to!! lol
