ok so I took my second dose of methotrexate on thursday night only on 10mg right now,and I am wiped out. I sleep all weekend and left work today. Im starting to get a cold. Is this a good sign that the med could working. I truly feel defeated by this med. Any other suggestions.

Hang in there. It took a few months for me to adjust to the medicine and for it to start working. I read in another post that you are only taking 10 mg. My dr. started me on 15 and almost immediately went up to 20. At first when I took it I would feel horrible for the entire weekend. I took it on Sat. mornings (never thought to take it at night). I have been on it for almost 2 years now and we are trying a taper (for the 3rd time) I am currently on 5 mg. When I was feeling ill from it I actually had accupuncture done to help with the nausea. I think people with Lupus are really great sleepers anyways and add some pretty toxic drugs to the mix and we are down for the count. I hope you are taking this med with Folic Acid? I take 3 Folic Acid a day and I take vitamin B-6 for energy. I noticed a difference with the B-6 almost right away, which is one of the good things in my life. I have more energy and can usually stay up all day without being so exhausted feeling. Just give it some more time and you will be feeling better soon.
