  Hi Ginny,

Hope you are feeling better. I know the plaquenil was not agreeing with you.

Yesterday I returned from a short vacation and today I was checking posts
and didn't see you. Hope you are OK.

Hi Robin! Yep, I'm doing okay.  I've been really busy with work. Crazy wedding season.  The Plaquenil has been a bit hard to get used to.  I have to eat a fairly big supper in order to avoid feeling nauseated and having diarrhea.  I'm pretty drowsy from it too. Platelets are still low but not falling below 50,000, so that's good.

Not sure if my Lupus or my Fibro is flaring up a bit but one of them is.  I'm getting my monthly Lupus blood tests done on Monday to see.

Overall I'm doing alright. The increase in my Zoloft seems to have taken the edge off my depression and anxiety.  Just taking it all one day at a time.

How was your vacation?  Where did you go?  I hope you're feeling well too.  Thanks for checking on me Robin. You're a good friend! wink

Hey Ginny,

Hopefully you will adjust to the plaquenil. Sorry you are flaring. You have been working
alot so be careful not to overdue. I am glad the Zoloft has been helping.

My hubby took me to a mountain resort for a few days. Little did I know my daughter,
son-in-law and grandbaby were going to be there to surprise me. They drove 12 hours.
They live in Wisconsin and I live in Arkansas so we only see eachother a few times a year.
It was wonderful!

Hope you are able to get some rest. Keep us posted, hoping all your tests go well.

Have a great weekend!!!

Hi Ginny,

Have you talked to your rheumy about your reaction to plaq? I am wondering if you should start off a little slower, maybe 1 tabs for a couple of weeks? I had to do that when I started it because of the GI side effects.

I am also dealing with that right now with my MTX dose. I sure hope you feel a lot better soon! Take care my friend.

Hey Stacie,
Yeah I have thought about telling my rheumy.  As long as I eat a decent meal with them I'm okay.  Hoping I can just get through this initial stage.  I've been on it for 2 weeks now. Time goes by so fast!

Robin, your surprise sounded amazing! So glad you all had such a wonderful time.

Question for all those on Plaquenil.  Should I see my Opthamologist now to get a base line test of my eyes?

Thanks Stacie & Robin, you have a great weekend!

Ginny - My rheumy wouldn't even let me start on Plaq until I'd had a baseline eye exam.  She wanted the report from the Opthomologist before she'd send the script.

I'm glad you're managing on it and I hope it helps your symptoms!

Yes, you need the baseline now - it's the "Visual Acuity Test" that you want. You look, one eye at a time, into what looks like a big egg and they flash little lights around inside the egg - you just push a button whenever you see a light. Very simple!
