Hi Ava,

I understand how difficult it is with doctors.  I was told it was all in my head too.  A lot of us were actually.  All we can do is encourage you to keep doctor shopping.  You will eventually get a doctor to listen to you.

One step you could take is to get in to see an Internal Medicine Specialist.  When I did that (after a decade of doctor shopping) she immediately knew what it was.  I was diagnosed a few days later.  That's one avenue to try if you already haven't.

You're doing all the right things.  The puzzle pieces just have to fit now.  Keep us posted!

They know EVERYTHING about the body and every disease.  Seriously, they're probably the smartest physicians on the planet. They know how to piece everything together.  It's amazing.  I'm sure you have them in Ireland as well.  I"m in Canada.  I know from another one of our members (who isn't here anymore), she is from Ireland and has had a really tough time with the health care too.  I pray you get a really great doctor very soon.  Have you thought about doctor shopping in the England or Scotland?  Just thinking out loud here.

You're not alone Ava.  We're here for you.

You described a lot of the symptoms I first had when I started getting sick. I just didn't feel right and felt like I had a flu that I never really got over. The problem is that all of these symptoms are so vague and are present in a lot of conditions so it can take a while to get an accurate diagnosis. Ginny is right that the first step is finding a really good doctor who will listen and take you seriously. Hang in there and keep us updated and also ask any questions you might have.
