Last night, after limping around the grocery store and leaning on the cart, nearly chewing out an impatient woman in line behind me, and crying in the parking lot from sheer exhaustion and exasperation (it does get funny, I promise), I went home and made dinner with my son. He was so helpful and for a few minutes I forgot all my worries.
Well then I crashed on the couch to watch a movie. I have a shihtzu puppy named Jemma who never leaves my side. She crashed next to me, on her back, with her feet up in the air-not unusual. But she must have been really tired because she slept in that same position for a while.
My son was already in bed, but entered the room to announce he needed a drink of water. This woke my puppy up, who immediately jumped down from the couch to meet my son...But she didn't make it. She hobbled around, staggering, and fell over a few times. She looked at me in disbelief. Then it entered my head at the same time it left my son's mouth, "She looks like you, Mama!" I love that kid!
