Finally!! A lifetime of symptoms - and because they never seemed to fit...and in this past year of blood tests - all negative - eventually my doctor takes an ANF - I was in the hospital 4 times in two weeks - with kidney pain, blood and protein in urine and have been on steroids but am reducing - to be told by consultants repeatedly before the ANF nothing wrong as mostly other results negative. The relief is overwhelming. I have no idea if it is lupus or CTD etc but am referred to urologist and rheumatoid specialist also.

Hi and welcome. There is nothing worse than being sick and knowing something is wrong only to have doctors tell you that there is nothing wrong. It can make a person pretty crazy. I'm sorry that you got so sick, but the good news is that you are now getting some answers. I hope you get a really good rheumatologist. Are they sending you to a nephrologist for your kidneys?

Let us know if you have any questions and know that we are here for you for support during the rough times.
dx: UCTD (lupus), sjogrens, reynauds,
meds: prednisone, plaquenil, methotrexate, tramadol, neurontin,
doxepin, folic acid
