Hi everyone, I was just wondering if it was normal to have a lowish blood pressure and high temperature with MCTD- im newly diagnosed and am still learning but haven't been feeling  good lately. My blood pressure is 109/54 and i have a temp of 38.1'C or 100.58'F. I don't know if im worrying over nothing.

I have had mctd for 4 years and my body temp is normal...98.6 or a little lower. Blood pressure is high normal due to taking prednisone for 4 years. Don't think either condition is normal for mctd but nothing else is normal for it. Every case is different.

My case was extreme and life threatening and my BP was low normal even though taking high doses of prednisone. After 10 months prednisone caused my BP to skyrocket but meds have brought it down again.

What meds are you currently on?

Bill
MCTD (lupus, scleroderma, polymyositis).  Diagnosed 2005.  Kidney, liver, GI tract, dysphagia, raynauds, Barretts esophagus, quadriplegic in 2005.  Recovered and now active in skiing, tai, chi, hiking, golf.  Meds: prednisone 2.5mg, imuran 25mg, amlodipine, benazapril, omeprazole, potassium, folic acid, vitamins, maxide and various supplements and vitamins.

Remain optimistic and you can overcome the odds.
