hi again...my blood pressure is still chaotic and i was in the emergency room the other night for flank pain..i know lupus nephritis does not hurt but it doesnt hurt to pee either.. they did cat scan and xrays and diagnosed me with UTI.. they took me off blood pressure pills 1 month and a half ago because my blood pressure was dropping really low.. like 91/56 so they took me off well now that im flaring and my kidneys are getting worse i cant get my doctor to call me back because she works m-w..

would it be a good idea to start back up my blood pressure pills if i check my blood pressure before i take them..I do not want to have another stroke.. the last one almost killed me i love all my doctor but my kidney doctor is the one controlling my blood pressure meds do you think i should call my priamry after all he is internal medicine.. right nwo my blood pressure is 167/97 so its back up there.. my headache finally went away.. what would you do... im getting nervous which doesnt help my BP

Hey Amy...Sorry you are flaring so bad. if it were me and I couldnt get ahold of the doc who controlled my BP meds I would call my primary doctor. You are right, BP is nothing to mess around with. With my kidneys flaring my BP has been crazy. Top number ranges from 118-140 and bottom number ranges from 95-113...but its usually 128/100. From what I have been told where numbers should be you deffiantly need to be on some meds to get your numbers down but I wouldnt start taking them without first verifying it with your doc. Since its Friday I would call ASAP!!!!

Hope things get better controlled for ya!

I agree with Amy. Get in to see your doctor.  I have had BP issues as well and like you, I had a stroke which makes BP issues a big deal. Keep us posted.

Amy,

This is nothing to fool around with. I've always gone to the doctor who prescribe a medication for me. Please don't take meds without instructions from your doctor. We all have opinions here, but that's all they are. You shouldn't take medical advice from anyone but your doctor. So get thee to the doctor and get that blood pressure under control. And do it right away!
