for about a year, neuro/psychiatric systemic lupus has been suspected for my wife. Since the methotrexate was discontinued due to bad liver numbers (She takes it for another AI disease), her joints began to hurt a lot. Sometimes she has had to revert to a wheelchair due to the pain.
She has had Raynauds for about 3 years as well. Last week her kidneys began to bleed and she was hospitalized for a few days to make sure that there were no UTI's or kidney stones. Everything was clear. We are trying now to get into a nephrologist but can not get in for a very long time.
I have trouble with seeing this as lupus kidney issues as she has been in so much kidney pain and I understand that pain does not go along with lupus nephritis.
BTW--her ANA has been elevated but not to a diagnostic level.
Does anyone here have any ideas?

Thanks

Countryboy,

Having had no experience with lupus nephritis, I can only offer you moral support, and welcome you to the forum. Your wife is lucky to have a concerned hubby like you.

I hope you get some answers soon.

Hey Country boy! I have a pretty severe case of lupus nephritis and I have never had any pain associated with it in my Kidneys. Do you know what her Creatinine and BUN is? Do you know how much blood is passing in the urine? where is the pain located at? I would suggest popping over to the Kidney Forum...their are several members over there and a pretty wide range of kidney issues. I agree with Pat, what a very lucky wife you have :)!
