Hi Everyone. It's been a while. There are so many new faces, but I know lots of you still remember me. I've been in a major depressive episde for several months that has caused me to slip into a deep withdrawl. I cry often and of course I'm flaring. Thank God my psychiatrist continues to adjust my meds and I'm now seeing a therapist weekly. I have thought of my healing well friends often and I still love y'all. Posting today is a very big step for me- I'm reaching out. It's hard to believe that something so simple can mean so much. I hope I'm back now. Love, Butterflake

Hi and welcome back . I'm fairly new here, but I didn't want to read your post and not let you know that it melted my heart. I'd offer you the biggest real hug if I could, but one over the internet will have to do *hugs* I'm sorry to hear that you're dealing with some rough emotions...Way to go for reaching out however you can to people. I know from personal experience that's not easy when you're feeling depressed. Hang in there, ok?

Hi Donna,

Good to see you posting again. I hope your flare decides to turn tail and run very soon - darn flares are no fun at all.

Hi Donna, it's good to "see" you. I'm in the same boat you are right now with depression, crying, flare ups. It's been going on for a few months now also. I'm seeing a therapist weekly too. I'm on meds that seem to be working. How are you finding the therapy sessions? I've had about 10 now. It feels good to let out my frustration and anger. I hope you are benefitting from your sessions.

I'm here off and on. My depression comes and goes without warning. If you ever need to talk away from the forum, you can email me. I think we have a lot to relate to!

Take good care, baby steps sis!!

Donna,

It's so good to have you back, and I'm glad you have reached out to us. That's a huge step for someone experiencing as much depression as you are. But I am sad to hear that you are having such a tough time, both with your flare and depression on top of it. Do you have a support group at home? At least you know that you have a good team helping you, and I hope they truly are helping you.

Stick around. We've missed you and want to be there for you. I'm also sending you a big hug.

Love,

Pat

Hi Lynnwood, Ginny, Pat, Fran, Redrose and Ellie. Thank you so much for the replies. Hugs are always welcome. I read in a neurology journal recently that for some of us, despression is a way for a flare to manifest itself. So sometimes when you're hit with a tidal wave of depression, it's a lupus flare. Yeah, having lupus makes you depressed, but depression can be a flare. Go figure. Ginny I will try to send you a line. Lynnwood, I am SO thankful you're here in ATL, even if I can't pick up the phone. For me it's a very, very snail slow process. cry   Keep those hugs coming Ladies. Love, Butterflake

Man, it's so good to hear from all of you old timers Babs, Emmi and Amy. Therapy is helping and I enjoy going. Tim and I combined our money accounts a few years ago and it didn't work out. (Refresh: I filed for bankruptcy when I was in bed for 3 months with no diagnosis) So we're splitting everything up and it's much better. I was driving a 1991 Celica which was a bear to get in & out, but now I have 2007 Chevy Hhr. I love it! I always keep my walker in the back and it's a breeze to drive. I always prefer my cane if I'm not walking far, but it didn't help a few weeks ago when I fell down the escolater at the medical building. Ouch. But what's really unfortunate is Thursday the man in the townhouse next door walked to the top of his stairs, had a massive heart attack and died. He was 54. Tim and I heard him thud down the stairs. This may sound odd, but a sign my depression is lifting is I feel fortunate to be alive. Love to all of you, Butterflake

Nothing quite like a freak accident to a neighbor, friend, or family member to make us grateful for what we have.

Last weekend my cat had the stomach flu and my friend had a cold. Nothing like a heart attack, but still made me or so grateful I could eat and breath without issues!

Glad you are still making progress in feeling better...every little bit helps.

Cheers,

Hey Donna,

Welcome back! You know, I too suffer from depression. And I found counceling really helps me, as well as pet therapy. I too, had a recent flare up, and of course over Thanksgiving. And I cry too, even without a flare up. However, you have friends, all of us understand how it is, and will be there for you. Hang in there. HUGSSSSSS
