Hey everyone. I hope you are having a good day. I know a lot of people have fatigue due to Lupus and I have a question about it. I thought I had suffered from it before but from what I have experienced this week has been really rough. Maybe its from my Cytoxan infusion last Friday? Here whats going on. I wake up exhausted but I literally drag myself out of bed and to work. I work for about 30 minutes and I am so tired. I am one of those people when I am really tired I cry and cry and get really overwelmed so I have spend much of my time at work crying for no reason... I start floating and feel like Im in dejava. I will take a nap at break (sometimes fall asleep at my desk). I can't get enough energy to walk up the stairs and if I do I am so out of breath by the time I get up the stairs...I feel like I am going to pass out. I get home from work around 2 and all I can do is sleep. I don't even have the energy to fix lunch. I will wake up, go to the couch...sleep some more, by this time my family is home and fixes diinner, I will eat and then usually go to bed around 7 only to have it all happen again the next day. Also I am on 50 mg of pred (had 125 mg of solu-medrol Friday) and I hurt real bad. When I wake up my feet feel like I have been standing on them all day, can hardly sit to use the restroom. My shoulders are starting to get to where I have a difficult time puling up my bedspread. I am having bouts where I have trouble catching my breath from walking into another room or get this...after I drink with a straw I am gasping for breath. When I wake up from resting my heart rate is about 100 but if I get up to use the bathroom or go into another room it goes up to 120-150. (for a change my BP is actually really good) Does this sound like a flare? I dont know how I can be flaring with the Cytoxan and prednisone but I guess anything is possible. Or does this sound like possibly comming down with another cold/virus? My temp has stayed at 99-99.6 since I finished my antibiotics I was on 2 weeks ago when I had the H1N1, so I haven't been to worried about that although it is still over 2 degrees higher than my normal boy temp. Any suggestions or advice to help with the fatigue and the shortness of breath? Let me tell you, its really embarresing when I drink from a cup and then for the next few minutes breathing like a finished a big race.

Amy, girl, I hate that you are dealing with all of this. There's so much at play...so many factors! Do you know what your hemaglobin and hematocrit is right now? When I done Cytoxan infusions mine would drop real low, real fast. Call your doc girl. This may be something that can be fixed! ARe you taking Procrit injections? You know renal failure is a major causative factor with anemia too. Let me know how you're doing? Love ya, Judy

My Hemoglobin is 9.1 and my HCT is 27. My nephrologist has upped my iron pills and told me to plan on getting an IV of iron when I see him in 2 weeks. He said he can't do the procrit until my levels go back up. So far those numbers have just fell slowly since the Cytxan excpet my WBC, now that did plummit quick last month. I think I was at 7.4 the day I had my Cytxan last month and with in a week it feel to .7 or .8. I go next week to get another CBC and sed rate, ANA, C3,C4, ALT, AST, and kidney function tested and to meet with my rhuemy!.
Judy, I wish you the best on Monday and will be praying and praying for you!
