Hi all!  I want to wish each of you a wonderful New Year!  Lupus is like a box of chocolates...you never know what you are going to get or when you are going to get it...So, I know how hard that makes it to plan ahead.  HOwever, I was wondering if anyone had any special goals or ambitions for the New Year?

I would like to revise my book and make it a more useful resource for people suffering with chronic illness.  I would also like to complete a novel i've been working on for some time.

Another things I would like to do...selfishly enough...is have more fun in my life!!!  Do you ever feel the overwhelming urge to do something just for the fun of it...it's not ordered, appointed, prescribed, necessary...just fun with no real purpose???  I think I need to laugh more!

Whatever your goals/ambitions are I pray that you accomplish them and you are blessed with a better year and lots of laughter!  Love you all, Judy

Hi Judy,
I hope you have a wonderful New Year as well. I haven't made any resolutions for the new year as of yet. Hopefully, in a couple of months I will be able to focus on something interesting and useful. I'm currently taking classes, so I will see how that develops in a few months.

I like your idea of doing something for the fun of it! I think we could all use some fun and laughter for a change.

It would be nice to take a long vacation somewhere peaceful. A cabin retreat sounds good to me if it comes with a cook and maid...lol.

What is the name of your book? I think you had it published just before I had my internet disconnected. I would love to read it. I wish you all the best with the revision and your new book! I'm sure they both will be sucessful.

Take care and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Love, Babs

Happy New year Judy!!

I also want to have more fun. This has not been a fun year. I want to live on the edge a bit and tap into my inner rebel. LOL.

I want to continue to lose weight and get in shape. I fell off the wagon over the last couple of months. My health and well-being, physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually needs my full attention. I need to be better to me.

I wish you all big successes in the upcoming year. Sending you all positive thoughts and prayers!

Love

Babs...I don't think I can say the name of my book in the forum...sorry! A vacation sounds heavenly, especially the maid and stuff!!!

Ginny...I hope and pray you get a break from all of the problems and have a better year. I know what you mean about falling off of the wagon and needing to be better to yourself! I'm right there with you! Do it girl! You so deserve it!

Hey everyone!!! Great topic Judy :)! My new years goals/resolutions.

1. Quit smoking. I have been smoking off and on for 5 years now and I know I need to quit. I plan on quiting December 31st and Lord Willing never smoking another cigeratte again :)!

2. Get in shape physically. Since Jan (and pred in Jan) I have gained 80 pds...

3. Learn how to deal with having Lupus and get out of denial!!!

4. Like everyone, have more fun. Im gonna try to be more spontanious and not have to have everything planned! This has been my worst year and I am glad to be putting it behind me and start over with a new year!

5. Finish School and start working in a Doctors office :)!

Judy, I looked up your book by name and found a article that the newspaper wrote on it and it looked so good that I went and ordered it off of Amazon or Ebay (can't remember..lol) and I am excited about reading it. I had no idea you had written a book. I am so excited to read a book by someone who I know has had to battle this illness first hand and so is my family. They know how much you have helped me through this year and I am hoping the book will help them understand a bit more!!

I hope everyone has a great new years and that your lupus/MCTD/UCTD lays low this year and doesnt give very many problems. Will be praying for everyone :)

This has been a hard year for me too, 2 huge flares, not fun. Of course many of you have had it a lot worse (((hugs))))

1. I would LOVE to start taking Tae Kwon Do with my daughter, she is a Senior Brown belt, only 3 belts until her black belt!!!! YAY Regardless of how I do it, I want to get in shape and tone my muscles.

2. I want to pay attention to the little things, like sending family members birthday, anniversary cards, etc. I have been SO bad at that lately.

3. get out of debt, as much as possible before I possibly lose my job in a couple months.

4. like many of you, have more FUN!!!!

Judy, good luck on your book, I know it will be great.

Happy New Year to everyone!!!!

Thanx Stacie! I pray you have an awesome near year. I had to chuckle about the Tae Kwon Do thing. After a couple of severe prednisone melt downs yesterday, I could be dangerous with any color belt!!!

Seriously, I hope you accomplish all you set out to do this year!

So my New Year's Resolution....hmmm...

1. Take care of myself and lose weight.
2. Make the final decision on whether to move back closer to family or not.
3. Get involved in the charity marathons that my sister is involved in. It's been a goal of mine for a while because I'm a nurse for oncology patients. Not sure how successful I'll be, but I can definitely try my hardest!
4. Be happier and more active!

So far, the New Year's has had me in bed since I got off of work yesterday. Hopefully I start to feel better soon! I have just been nonstop with work since I got back from the holidays and I'm sure these are the consequences of that.

Judy, I would LOVE the name of your book, too! I'll put my email address on my profile (since it's not at the moment) until I hear back from you. I would appreciate it :-)
Diagnoses- UCTD 2009, ovarian cysts 2008, asthma 2001
Daily Meds- Plaquenil, Prednisone, Vitamin D, Wellbutrin, Glucosamine Chondroitin

NOLA,
I just sent it to you. I hope you accomplish your goals for 2010!! I used to be a nurse until my health declined so severely. I miss it soooo much! I absolutely loved nursing, felt it was a calling! Best wishes to you and yours! Happy New Year! Judy
