I had my follow up today to discussed my bloodwork and X-ray.  I initially when to see the rheumy on 12/16/09 after my internist referred me due to an elevated sed rate and rheamatoid factor and of course feeling miserable tired/fatigued, muscle burning/achey/some joint stiffness in my hands and a weird rash/hives different joints (elbow, knee, wrist,).

Well, this are some of the labs findings: Elevated hemoglobin/hematocrit, Vitamin D deficiency, again slighty elevated rheumatoid factor, and also elevated C-reactive Protein.
She also mention that there where inflammation seen in the x-ray(wrist) she look a little concerned about the x-ray from my spine (keep looking at it).  She is referring me to a neurologist and also a pulmonologist.  She prescribed Vit D( Drisdol 50000 iu one capsule weekly x12 weeks. Naproxen 500mg twice a day.  I told me to come back in 2 months.

I'm  just confused, i just want to know what it's wrong so that way i can work on fixing it or at least make me feel better.  It would be nice to have diagnosis, it hard explain to people how you feel speacially when you don't look physically sick.

I was hoping to get some answers today, but actually I'm more confused than before. I dont know what to make from all of this.

If any one have any advise that would be nice.
Thanks

Hi,
I'm sorry to hear your appointment didn't result in answers for you. It can be very depressing not knowing what is causing your symptoms as well as not getting the proper treatment to help you feel better.

Your right, it's hard to describe the way you feel to others when there are no definate answers, especially when you don't look sick or your not laying in a bed. We understand you, completely.

Unfortunately, it may take several doctors and many tests to finally find the root cause for a diagnosis. Hopefully, the neurologist and pulmologist will shed some light on your symptoms.

Hang in there and don't give up. Keep us updated and take care. You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Babs

Thanks both for the advise.
Redrose77- to answer your question Is she treating the symptoms. She did put me on Naproxen 500mg twice daily and also on Vitamin D 50000 iu (1 capsule weekly x 12 weeks).
I hope this Naproxen will help because my left wrist area is swollen and real tender and on top of that I just noticed the rash/hives in my left knee. I did took picture of it so that way i can show her next time since both time (appt) i didn't have it. Hopefully that will help.
Thanks again- Hope everyone is doing Ok
