I am sitting here at work and feel like I am going to fall over..... my knees are so weak they feel like jellie when I walk, I have cold sweats and I am woozy to say the least. The nasty rash on my chest started again it looks like angry acne, I feel so horrible. I have no PTO time, in fact I am under by 10 hours. I am afraid if I ask to leave I will get fired this time. I worked so hard to get my degree and land this job..... My neck and back are bunched up in knots and I can barely think properly to do anything...... This stinks. cry  I have short term disability through work, but I am afraid they will fire me before I can even do that....

Hi there! Are you in the States? If so most employers offer something called the FMLA (Family & Medical Leave Act). FMLA requires covered employers to provide up to 12 weeks of unpaid, job-protected leave to eligible employees. I am currently using this intermittantly. You will have to get your doctor to fill out a questinare and turn it into your HR department. I was approved very quickly and it has saved my job. Maybe something to look into...For once this is a good thing to google. LOL!

I used the same thing until I was no longer able to work. It's a tough position to be in! I'm going to pray for you! Judy

Thank you both for your replies... My company has under 50 employees so the FMLA does not apply, they say they will still honor it, but I have my doubts for a few reasons :).. I'ts almost friday, so I just have to make it through somehow...

I would get medical documentation just to be safe and fill out the FMLA paperwork. Then get in writing that they will honor it because if they put it in writing I believe that makes them legally liable to do so.
