Thought I would tell you a little about my issues. I have been having problems for a couple years. I used to walk 3 to 5 miles a day then all of the sudden I started just draggin myself down the road and I started having pain and swelling in my knees. It got so bad I had to quit walking. I would have pain everyday but livable, then I would have flare-ups where my joints would swell and really be in pain for like 2 to 3 weeks then it would stop. Now all my joints are involved. At first I didn't have medical so I just delt with it. I finally got medical and I told my doctor that I am 47 and I feel like I'm 80. She ran some tests and I had a high ANA reading so I was sent to the specialist. He did more tests. Only one other blood test came up positive for lupus. I had a whole body bone scan which determined that I have arthritis in all my joints from my toes to my jaw. He still doesn't want to diagnose me with anything till he has more evidence. So I take tramodol and Ibuprofen and deal with it. I have learned to live with pain but the fatigue is the worst ever. I hate it!!!! I don't have it everyday. Last week I had 5 days of having so much energy I was bouncing off the walls. Now I am on my 3rd day of fatigue and pain. My whole body hurts. Joints, muscles the works. I am feeling very Blessed for those good days. Thank you Jesus. Thanks for listening

Hi Louise! Welcome to the forum. I'm so sorry you are dealing with these issues, that we are all so familiar with! Is the specialist a rheumatologist? If not, you really need to see one. If so, you may consider a second opinion. Even if a diagnosis can't be made at this time your symptoms need to be brought under control.

You will find a lot of very kind, informed people on this forum. Hang in there!! God bless you, Judy

Hi there! wow, I am sorry you are in so much pain. That is exactly what my symptoms were when I was diagnosed except I was book work for lupus when it comes to the blood work. Do you have a follow up appointment with the specialist you saw? If not, I would recommend going to another one. There is a reason you are having your joint pain and you need to find out what that reason is so it can be treated properly so you hopefully don't have to take pain pills!

about the fatigue...Are you getting a good nights rest at night or does the pain keep waking you up?

I was seeing a rheumy. I do sleep good unless I am in pain. pain wakes me up a lot! I keep Ibuprofen on my nightstand. Last night It took me acouple hours to get to sleep but my arms an shoulders hurt too much to get to sleep. I was also having chest pain. Once I finally got to sleep I woke up later completely wet from sweats. I took one of my DH's ambians ( I know shouldn't do that) it usually helps a lot! but It did nothing!!!!!
